The Cat and company travel by hot air balloon up and into various weather phenomena including rain, snow, thunder, tornadoes, and (yikes!) even hurricanes! Along the way they learn about thermometers, anemometers, wind vanes, cloud formations, humidity, fog, smog, weather folklore, and how to stay safe in lightning. Written and illustrated in Seussian style, this a great addition to the Cat in the Hatโs Learning Library! Review: I love all the technical words and concepts they introduce - My 3 year old son loves these books! I love all the technical words and concepts they introduce. There is so much to talk about during or after reading them. They are fun and educational. I purchased both "Oh Say Can You Say What's the Weather Today" and "There is No Place Like Space." Review: Awesome kids series - I love all the Learning Library CitH books. I homeschool and have a handful of kids 7 and under. These are perfect for elementary age level and I plan on adding to our collection. So far we have 7 of the books from this series. This book is enjoyable and filled with facts and bright pictures just like the others. Itโs a perfect introductory to all things weather. So much info to to encourage questions and thoughts about weather topics, which ultimately makes kids want to do more in-depth learning on specific topics of their choice.

It has a lot of really good information in it
Very well written. I wish I found this when my grandkids were younger. It has a lot of really good information in it. I would start reading it to your kids early around age 3, and continue up til they can read it themselves. I would recommend from age 3 to age seven. If an older child can read it to a younger child, then they will get some benefit from the book without thinking is a little kids book. The reason for starting them early is before they have a fear of the weather. My daughter lost two horses in an thunder and lightning storm two years ago as both were struck at the same time by a bolt of lightning. We now have a couple of grandkids with a tremendious fear of bad weather. This book explains things on a kids level that helps kids to understand weather. Kids cannot control the weather, but this will help them to better understand what weather
