Awesome Consumer Level Clipper From Someone Who Knows!
I have just finished my first cut with the Wahl Chrome Pro. I love it!I do know something about hair grooming as I was at one time pursuing a career in hair styling for the film industry. Instead, I went into sound recording. But I still learned a lot about hair. The first thing you learn is that Wahl's professional line of clippers in the top used brand of clippers by pros in the world. The second thing you learn is their reputation for quality and customer satisfaction. So I felt pretty confident that I wanted a Wahl clipper set when I went looking for one. After doing lots of research, reading many of the reviews here at Amazon, and looking for the right price point and combination of features, etc., I decided on the Chrome Pro.So far, it's perfect for what I need it to do. My hair cuts (basically a modified buzz cut) were costing me twenty dollars each by the stylist I was going to. She is good, and a pro, but sheesh, 20 bucks just to use a clipper to buzz off my hair? So having experience in the business, I looked around for prices at various places. The absolute best price was right here at Amazon. More on that in a minute. So in opening up the kit (all of the many accessories are listed above) I removed the clipper from the kit, took the twisty tie off the cable, found the blade comb I wanted and immediately started clipping. No set up, no prep needed. I had washed my hair, let it dry, and combed it. To get the length I like, I already knew the comb numbers from past experience. Wahl, and all other hair experts recommend that you start with the comb that leaves the most hair on your head first. You can always work your way down quickly by using the next number comb (higher numbers leave more hair; the lower the number, the closer the cut). With my kind of cut, you do the sides and back first, around the ear next, and then finally the top. So I found a number four comb, clicked it onto the clipper, which is very easy, and then started in on one side of my hair. Using the Wahl clipper is so easy that with my kind of cut, I can do it all myself. A color booklet comes with the kit and is very easy to follow. Wahl also has DIY videos on YouTube to watch. You use the arch or rocking technique as you move the clipper up the side of the head, pulling the clipper away from the top as you finish your move. It is very easy and I was finished with both sides and the back in a couple of minutes.Next, I found the Right and Left taper combs to cut around the ear. You start at the lower edge of hair on each side and cut in a circle around the ear all the way to the front. The Chrome Pro has a taper lever on the side and this adds a greater degree of adjustment as you cut. It will lower and raise the cutting blades in case a comb isn't quite low enough but the next comb would be too tight. Great feature! After I was done with both ears, I put the number six comb on the clipper (they change out instantly) and starting at the front of my hair, cut straight back at first as the hair fell off. The clipper and combs cut evenly and professional looking. I finished the top of my head from the back, moving from all directions over the swirl to ensure an even cut. After that was done, I took off the combs and with the help of a mirror, used the clipper to trim the side angles of the back and a straight line across the bottom. Easy as anything. The last thing you do is use the barber shears and styling comb to even out any cow licks and clean up around the ears. To finish off, a wetting of the hair and some Bed Head gel and I'm ready for town! After cleaning the clipper with the enclosed brush, it was back into the carry case and under the sink. I'll use this every week and my hair will stay looking great without growing long and then getting cut short again. My wife, who was doing my hair more recently, absolutely loved the cut and said she's retired from cutting my hair.I have to mention price here. I had spotted this same clipper at Sam's Club for more money than Amazon. Add to that the local sales tax. This price point qualifies for free shipping. It said it would take five days to get here...it took two. So I saved $6.36 in shipping. Then at the time of my purchase, there was a Special Offer attached to this product (always look for Amazon's Special Offers). This was in the form of a $3 off coupon which you must click on to apply to the purchase. And if you don't already have an Amazon.com credit card, get one. You get points for all your purchases and can apply those to future purchases. I had $9.36 worth of points saved up already so I clicked to apply those to this purchase. My final cost, for the clipper kit and a bottle of Wahl 4-Ounce Blade Oil, which will last you the life of the clipper and onto your next one, was $17.88 at the time of purchase! Thanks Amazon.com for an incredible deal! For the price of just one hair cut, I've paid for the kit, and now the rest of the clipper's life my haircuts are free!So if you are in the market for a clipper, or just thinking about the possibility of doing your own hair, check out the Wahl Chrome Pro Haircut Kit. With Amazon's return policy, you can't really lose!

Great Clipper, Great Value
I have been cutting my own hair for decades and have used nothing but Wahl clippers. This is my third set and I like this clipper the best of the three. My last clipper was Pro model. It worked great, but was fairly large and heavy. The only reason I replaced it was because I dropped one of the screws down the sink while cleaning it and decided it was time to retire it anyway. The new clipper is smaller and lighter, which makes it easier to cut your hair. And, this clipper cuts hair like my Toro lawnmower cuts the grass. The big difference is that the Wahl clipper is a heck of a lot cheaper than a Toro lawnmower. You can spend more money on a Wahl clipper than this one, but this clipper works great and is an excellent value, plus long lasting.

sturdy and sharp
Pretty good hair clipper, this is my third one and feels sturdy; shears are sharp, it includes a full set of guards, a couple of combs and a plastic cover, however the case is extremely fragile, it came with a broken latch

Great clippers
We had to send back the first pair it did look like they had been used before or maybe dropped. They worked great but they would mess up and would start shaking and making a loud noise. But the new pair are great smooth cut and love the case and all the attachments

Easy to use
I’ve had this brand before it’s affordable and works for when I need it. I don’t always cut my own hair I mixed with paying for one and doing it on my own so it’s no used often but I like having a reliable one when I need it. Easy to use

Wahl Chrome Pro Clipper Kit: A Workhorse for Home Haircuts
Wahl Chrome Pro Clipper Kit: A Workhorse for Home HaircutsI've been cutting my own hair for years, and this Wahl Chrome Pro kit is the one I keep coming back to. It's a no-nonsense, corded clipper that just works. The motor is seriously powerful—it doesn't bog down or snag, even on thick hair. The adjustable taper lever is the secret weapon for decent fades and blends once you get the hang of it.The kit is incredibly comprehensive. You get a full range of guards, from a #1 all the way up to a #8, plus some specialty guards for tapers and detailing. The storage case keeps everything organized, though it can feel a bit cramped. The included scissors, combs, and cape are basic but get the job done for simple trims.A few things to know: This is a corded model, so you're tethered to an outlet. The cord is plenty long, but it's something to consider. It's also not quiet—it has that classic, assertive barbershop buzz. The blades need a drop of oil before each use to stay in top shape, which is a small but important maintenance step.It paid for itself after just two haircuts compared to a barber visit. For a reliable, powerful clipper that will last for years with basic care, this is a fantastic value.Bottom Line: An excellent, professional-grade clipper for confident DIY haircuts. It's powerful, reliable, and comes with every attachment you'll need. Just be prepared for the cord and the classic barber buzz.

These are the clippers you've been looking for
I've been cutting my own hair ever since the pandemic. Long story short, I realized then that after many years of watching people at supercuts or fantastic sams cut my hair and not always do the greatest job, I could do what they did with a little practice and trial and error. I basically have a military cut with some bangs that I comb to the side. Nothing complicated really. A little blending on the sides but I like a high fade so that is much easier by a fault. Anyways, enough about me..about these clippers. These feel like what professional haircutters use. The weight, the sturdiesness, the sound..all the accessories along with sizes, brushes and oil...and man do they cut through hair like a warm knife through butter. I can wholeheartedly recommend these. I dont normally rush to do reviews right after a purchase, but I just got these delivered about an hour ago, cut my hair with them (long overdue), took a shower and then got on here to make this review. If you were like me and didn't know which ones to buy (due to an overly saturated market all with very comparable prices), do yourself a favor and pick these. Just don't F up your own hair or it's on you lol.

0-for-1
After seeing all of the fantastic reviews and satisfied customers for this product, I thought for sure that these were the clippers I had been looking for.My first impression was NOT good. Upon removing the clippers from the package I immediately noticed that there were clumps of black "stuff" between each tooth of the blades (strike one). It honestly seemed as though they had been used before, however, since I never saw anything that said these were a refurbished product, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and cleaned the blades as best I could. While cleaning, I noticed that one of the teeth was broken (strike two). Surely a single broken tooth on the blade won't affect the cut... I trudged forward. It was time to put the clippers to the test. The first few cuts weren't bad. It wasn't like cutting through butter as other reviews have said, but I was more or less satisfied with where they were getting me. That is until 60 seconds after starting the blades stopped moving (strike three, yer out!). The motor continued to hum, but the blades wouldn't budge. I thought maybe the trim had caused hair to clump up preventing the blades from moving freely, so I went about taking it apart for a quick clean (already??). As I removed the blades, what do I find??? Nothing. Not a strand of hair - clean as a whistle. I put the blades back together and tried again. Same result - motor humming, blades not budging.Standing in my bathroom with only partially trimmed hair, I was determined to finish the job. At that point I knew there was only one thing left for me to do... I punched the clippers. SUCCESS! The blades started moving again. I quickly went to work, but it wasn't long before the blades stopped moving again. I punched them again. Again it worked, but again only for a short time. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. I continued this method until I got tired of the continuous stopping and starting again, at which point my hair was satisfactory and my hand was bruised. It wasn't a fun experience and I'm incredibly disappointed with the product. With that being said, even though you might strike out in your first at-bat, you still have other at-bats in the game to redeem yourself. I've already got my return labels printed and a new set of the same clippers on order in hopes that maybe I just received a defective set in the first go-around. Here's hoping Wahl's second trip to the plate results in a home run.
