Citizen 295-56 Original Capacitor Battery for Eco-Drive

Installs easily, fits perfectly and as soon as it was in the slot my Citizen Eco-Drive started right up. This is simply a rechargeable battery (what Citizen calls a “capacitor battery”) whereas most quartz watches use ‘single use disposable’ batteries, like what you would use in a flashlight for example. These are rechargeable via the photovoltaic cells on the watch face, BUT like any rechargeable device, there is a limit to the number of times it can be recharged. If your Eco-Drive watch stops and won’t recharge because the capacitor battery has reached its recharge limit, this battery will get your watch going again. Make sure you give it a good 24 hour bright light recharge to charge it to fully recharge it and you should be good for several years.5 Stars for this product.

I have a Citizen Calendrier with a blue face I’ve had it for about 18 years, it went through some tough times with me, I had not changed the capacitor before this. I noticed it would only hold charge if charged in really good sun or it would stop. Just researched on size and someone in the answers here commented how it fit a citizen 8700 so I purchased this battery. Used YouTube and I felt it was not hard to install w a 25 dollar kit to open the watch on Amazon . The watch store I heard charges 85 dollars to change the capacitor or battery. The battery dropped in and the only part that took a little time was putting the diamond shaped battery cover on but it slipped into place. The watch immediately started working again after the new capacitor and put it under the sun to charge more, has been working well. Would buy again, will update if any issues but so far looks great.

My Blue Angels stopped working even after leaving it out in the sun for a week. Changed the capacitor and it works perfectly again. Thanks for making this available.

When installed ad the watch did not move, I assumed the battery need charge. After several days trying to charge it, I gave up. The battery does not work. After contacting the vendor, the made a refund in a very respectful manner.

Works only 5 months. Sucks

I think I lost my watch or that I have to spend a lot to bring it back to life but with this battery and a yt video I put it to work

The battery arrived extremely well packaged, in a hard plastic box and surrounded by foam. I checked the voltage and was a bit concerned it was only 1.38v (for a 1.5v battery), but installed it in a Citizens watch with solar re-charging, and within the hour the display was there and within a day it was fully charged per the watch's power meter. A recommended product.

Watch still working, except not holding charge at full capacity. Level 2 indicates full charge, will drop to level 1 overnight. Watch suppose to stay alive in 30-60 days with no sunlight if I remember correctly and yet lost a third in 12 hours. I dropped to 3 stars as a consolation, it’s not a dead watch.I came across this rechargeable battery and it has been in my cart forever. I have this B741 watch that’s been sitting on my windows sill for the last 14 years ticking every two seconds. Not that I need it so I never bother fixing it though I’m glad I did.Now installation has nothing to do with the battery, however, it literally took me 5 minutes to do it. Just make sure you clean the gasket and apply silicone grease to maintain water resistance.
