It's larger than my 4 quart Pyrex, slightly lighter, and definitely holds more. The lid also fits perfectly and I believe is better than other brands.

Good quality, thick material, lid makes it very convenient. Perfect for making two loafs of sourdough bread. Salads stay fresh longer.

I have had these a few days. They are fine. They are heavy. If I drop them I am hoping that they will not break into little shards of glass like a former bowl did BUT I am not going to drop it to test it out. They also lose a star as the lid is very difficult to pry off the bowl. I probably will not be using the lids at all because they are so hard to get off the bowl. Maybe it is just the yellow lids that are so difficult - I have no idea.

Good versatile bowl with tight fitting lid (and at reasonable price) to mix larger volume items, messier items or other items to pre-prep for a dish, keep overnight and cook in a day or two. I've used it for cookie dough, meatloaf prep, apple pie filling to use in 1-2 days, several pounds of peeled potatoes in cold water to use the next day etc., etc.

This bowl is what I was looking for when I make bread. It's a good size for mixing but not too heavy like a lot of glass bowls. But not too thin. I would buy it again. I love the lid. It is also a good size for a large salad.

Great bowl thick glass. Nice lid.used for salads, sour dough.
