Really nice soft top
I have a 2013 wrangler that i ordered with the hard top, but it did not have a soft top. I did a lot of research on different soft tops and ended up going with the supertop NX for a few reasons: 1) Bestop is the OEM manufacturer for Jeep soft tops. No need to worry about fit / quality 2) Capabilities - Sunrider feature is like a sunroof that opens up the entire front half of the jeep without taking off the top, and can be opened / closed in 60 seconds. 3) All hardware - if you don't have existing soft top hardware, this has everything you need. 4) Price - This isn't the cheapest soft top, but in my opinion the best value. Amazon was ~100 cheaper than anywhere else i found The product arrived quickly and was well packaged. Installation was not easy - they say 2 hours - i would say that's about right if you have installed one before. If you haven't add an additional hour. Also, the instructions are difficult to interpret, even the first step took some time to figure out. If i didn't like the product so much it would have lost a star because of the instructions. Also - note on the instructions that it says you should wait until the temperature is 70+ degrees before installing as this allows the fabric to stretch. They are not kidding. It was in the 60's when Installed and it took 3 large guys and turning the heat inside to maximum to stretch it to be able to close the top. The next day it had stretched and I was able to get it to close on my own. Bestop support was phenomenal. I broke the passenger side front door rail when installing the front top arch. I called their support line, received a human response after a few rings (their support is located in Colorado - US based phone support) and they shipped a replacement part at no cost, which arrived two days later and installed without incident. Overall quality of the top is great. The tinted windows look really nice, although you need to treat them gently to avoid scratches (this is pretty common with any plastic windows though). Putting the top down takes about 5 minutes, about 7 to put the top back up. One thing to note is the way the top folds back, you need to also pull the fabric of the top back with it as you're folding the top back or else it gets pinched between the support bars. Something you get used to after putting it up or down a few times. Overall I'm very pleased with the product, support, and price. I was very torn between a 4 and a 5 star as I love the product, but the installation being difficult detracted from the experience. I'm rounding a 4.5 up to a 5 as when you compare this top to the alternatives, it really does shine. One note, there are two versions of the Supertop - the regular supertop (older version) and the Supertop NX - The supertop NX is much better so be sure to get this one.

Outstanding product with so-so installation instructions
I bought my '15 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited this past December and it drove off the lot with a hardtop. The hardtop is a great option for winter driving in Ohio, but not so much for summer driving when you want to take advantage of all the JK has to offer. After significant research, and prior experience with a YJ equipped with a soft top, I finally selected the Bestop Supertop NX for my baby. It had me at lifetime warranty. I found the top available at many retailers, but Amazon offered the best shipping option and the same price (all listed at MSRP), so I pulled the trigger as the weather turned favorable. The package arrived at my doorstep two days later. Be advised that someone had to be home to accept the delivery. I was itching for a day away from the office so I had no problem taking off. The top sat in my garage for several weeks as all my weekends were booked with soccer games and get together's. I finally found the time to install the top two weeks ago. I opened the box, reviewed the parts list, confirmed everything had been received, and I then neatly organized the parts and hardware. The instructions mention that this is a moderately 'hard' job with three of four stars that will take 4+ hours. I had read some reviews here on Amazon that complained about a 6 hour install. I started the project at 8:30PM in my driveway seeing as there weren't that many parts. I consider myself above average in the handy department and an Engineering degree hangs on my wall. I am also an optimist and after reading that sentence I guess I am a little pompous as well. There was at least an hour and a half of daylight left when I started which by my expert calculations left me with about 10 minutes to enjoy a beer watching the sunset over my Jeep with a sweet new soft top. You probably know where this is going...the beer never happened. After removing the hard top I began looking at the instructions in more detail. They are bad. I feel comfortable saying that knowing that whoever created them won't be reading this because they left Engineering and went into Finance immediately upon completing their first summer internship at Bestop. I have a feeling these were assigned to the poor guy/gal on the Friday afternoon of his/her last day before heading back to a kegger in Boulder. The instructions rely on pictures which I appreciate, but the instructions don't bother explaining much about the illustrations. At least it tells you that the picture is of the 'right side'. Plan on spending about 20 minutes on each page making sure you are using the correct part and another 10 minutes carrying the task out. It would have been easier if the parts were marked/tagged in some way, but I didn't notice anything on any of the parts in my kit. The biggest time sink came when the support arms were to be fastened to the material piece. It calls for four screws per side and I could find only two. I was missing the step where you had to remove two pre-installed screws to uncover the additional mounting holes. In hindsight this step is technically illustrated, but some sort of descriptive heads up would have saved me some time and frustration. The install was much easier after that step was completed, but by that time I was relying on an LED light to find my way around the inside of the Jeep. I wrapped the job up at about 12:45 which is 15 minutes longer than suggested if you're keeping track. I guess the suggested time for install was the most accurate part of the description. A bit of the issue is on me for starting so late in they day when I knew I wasn't going to have access to my garage. Now, most importantly, the soft top is very nice. The materials are heavy, of high quality and feel really durable. The windows are both thick and pliable. The black interior side of the top looks much more finished than other tops I have seen and the canvas is soft to the touch inside and out. It appears to be manufactured in Mexico which I can live with. The operation is straight forward and can be done with just a single person. I parked next to a Jeep with a standard top and this one blows it away. I highly recommend the top to anyone with the only warning being to set aside the appropriate amount of time.

Beautiful top with really bad installation instructions, but worth the effort
I bought the top last week (along with the Bestop cart and cover) - fast delivery (you do need to sign for it). The box was very beat up and wet, but the contents were OK. The quality of the materials and the construction are very good - it looks much better than the cheap vinyl ones that you see out there. I installed it yesterday and am very happy with the result. A few points of caution to potential buyers: 1. The instructions that are included are terrible. A slightly better version is available at http://www.carid.com/images/bestop/soft-tops/pdf/54823-installation-instructions.pdf. Slightly better in the sense that these actually explain what you are supposed to be doing in words (included instructions only have pictures/drawings). 2. The installation does take about 4 hours (I did it by myself - maybe would have been faster with two people, but not necessary). Installation time will be much longer (and seriously frustrating) if you lack basic mechanical skills. It is much more difficult than an Ikea project. Would advise that you watch some videos online before you purchase so you know what you are getting yourself into. 3. The top is VERY tight (which is good), but the material definitely needs time to relax so that everything fits right. I have not been able to get the rear side windows completely snapped in place yet. 4. Putting the top down is simple, but it takes time. You have to remove the rear and side windows first (and figure out where to put them...). Overal 4 stars - did not give it 5 because of the poor instructions.

Decent product but poor packaging and instructions.
I installed this top on my 2012 Jeep JK yesterday. The top seems pretty decent and I like the look of it. I have a hard top also and plan to put on this soft top just for the summer months. First off the packaging for this top was not very good. Basically the top is just rolled up in a cardboard box with paper sheets between the windows to prevent scratching. The plastic and metal items are only put in plastic bags. While this works for scratch protection it does nothing to prevent impact damage to the plastic parts during shipment. I found two parts of my top damaged due to poor packaging. For the price of the top I expected it to arrive well packaged to prevent damage. Second the instruction sent with the top are a mess. While they are fairly easy to understand my set was printed upside down on each of the back pages which required you to flip flop around with the instructions. I spent most of the time just trying to find my place back. I ended up just tossing the instructions and looking it up on You Tube which proved to be a much better alternative than the mess of paperwork they sent with the top. I would think a company like best tops could do a little better job with the instructions. I was able to put the top on in about three hours with the help of you tube. It is not super hard it just takes some time so you know you are doing it correctly. I will give this top three stars. I am mostly happy with the product however some of the plastic parts like the door rails seem to be made of pretty cheap plastic. For a top that costs over $1000.00 I expected to see either a higher quality plastic or metal parts. It folds up and down pretty good and the fit seems decent. The packaging was poor and also the layout of the instructions. I read complex blue prints in my job and believe me the instructions could be so much simpler for a product like this. I would buy this product again if I couldn't find anything better.

It's a five-star top. The instructions, not so much.
The top must be reviewed separate from the instructions. I say this as the top is well worth the money I spent - I wish I had purchased it sooner - but the instructions are confusing at best. The top was difficult to get on at first. Everyone says that you should wait for a really hot day so that the top stretches. Having installed the top on a weekend where the temperatures were nice and comfortable, and then dropped when I was stretching the top to close it, I have to agree. But when I got it on it looked beautiful - like a totally different jeep. I am so happy that I went with the twill. Makes the jeep look new again (2012). And having lived with it on my daily driver I can say that the top is easy to use, fits wonderfully, does not leak, and is all around the best investment I have made on the jeep so far. Just plan a day to install the top and take your time. Once you understand what you need to do, it is easy. Okay, so, the instructions. Read them. Then, open up YouTube and watch the instructions from Bestop. About 10-15 minutes in you will notice that they don't follow the same instructions. The mechanics are the same - screw this in, pull this over, etc. - but the order in which you do them is not. Then, look for other videos about the installation. Everyone seems to have done it a little differently. I didn't watch the videos closely before attempting installation. I did check out the official Bestop installation video just to confirm it was something I could do. Then I was confused midway through the actual installation and figured I would check the video on my phone for help. Nope, they didn't follow the same order so I ended up going in the house and watching it on my laptop so that I could fast forward through it easier, until I could find the piece I was wondering about. In the end it took four hours to install it. TL;DR - installation instructions confusing but product superior.

NOT the same quality as the OEM top. BEWARE unless you don't mind leaks every time it rains.
Bestop customer service was very responsive and tried to resolve my problems with this top. Unfortunately the actual problem is apparently insoluble by them. The problem: IT LEAKS badly around the B-pillars because it is impossible to get the side windows fully into the door channels. Other issues include the overall cheaper feel of the frame and hardware. I bought this top to replace the factory Sunrider soft top which was destroyed in a fire. I contacted Bestop for a recommendation before purchasing and this is what they said was the same quality as my original top. It is not. I never had problems with leaks on the original and I could easily raise and lower it by myself. The STNX has a frame that is less rigid and is much more difficult to raise without getting the bows intertwined and the front Sunrider pin latches (not the windshield ones) do not engage by themselves like the OEM ones so the top must be held in-place while releasing the latches to avoid the whole thing flopping back onto the rear of the jeep. Another contributor to this problem is the pivot plate that mounts to the roll bar. It has three holes and when using the forward one as recommended the bow cannot pivot all the way forward. This is possibly a design intended to be compatible with multiple production years thus making it ill-suited for my 2016 specific dimensions. Finally, the amount of time spent on trying to resolve these issues and identify the OEM part number for the original top (which Bestop makes but doesn't sell directly) pushed me past my 30-day return period for Amazon so now I'm stuck with an inferior product. I am not happy and this is $1400 wasted. This customer experienced the identical problem: https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R2YG727J5RM7IZ/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B009EVOVDS

Turns a 07-09 into a flip-top, stops the leaking & looks good
I have a 2007 and a 2010 JK. I replaced my 07 original top with the supertop nx and so glad I did. If you own a 07-09 JK you know what a pain it is to just flip back the front part of the top. The NX not only replaces the top but the the chanels that go around the doors too. This means the top becomes like a 2010-2012 top, where all you have to do is unhook the front brackets and flip back. In fact, you can do it all from the driver's seat. Just go about 10-15 mph and push the top up. The wind will flip it back, nice and easy. It also stops the leaking! There's a flaw in the 07 top design that has it leak something awful. The NX not only fixes all the leaking, it's designed better than my 2010. Now if I open the door on the 2007 when it's been raining, the top routes the water to the far front and back of the door so it doesn't even drip down. Very well designed. It looks and feels good. It looks OEM but better. Feels high quality. The windows are tinted but the back window seems like it's slightly less dark, but not a deal breaker. My only real complaint is the Bestop logo on the back window. It's adhered to the plastic and can't be removed. The instructions are ridiculously bad. I recommend doing this project with someone else just for sanity's sake. It took me and my jeep guy 1.5 hours start to finish. About 1/3 of the way in we tossed the directions aside and just assembled it by intuition. It comes with these two extra support beams. Regardless of Bestop's intention for them, the beams aren't needed, just throw them away as they block the view when the top's down.

Great Soft Top, Difficult Install
This is a very quality top. The materials all look top notch and well constructed. The twill top is super nice and seems like it is going to be very durable. Pretty easy to position to the sunrider position by yourself, although definitely easier with two people. I would definitely recommend this top to anyone. That said, this thing was a beast to get installed. Definitely watch the instructional video. The manual isn't the best and it's often hard to tell what they are trying to demonstrate on paper, at least for me. The videos also do some smaller steps in a different order that makes installation easier. It took me ~4 hours to do the install and it is definitely a two person job. That said, I do feel like once you have done this, it would be much easier the second time. So if you now someone who has installed this previously, definitely ask for their help. This is a great product thus far though. I also didn't expect the install to be easy either. The quality of the fabric and the ease of actually using the top make it a 5 star product.

To small and flapping in the wind
It’s got to be a blim or something, it’s tighter on the driver side than the passenger side, it flaps against the sound bar on the highway, the instructions say to install it on the tightest setting but that’s impossible, the zipper for the side window has been sewn on crooked, it’s a piece of garbage compared to my factory twill top that came with my Jeep jk rubicon, extremely disappointed with bestop
