My mother ordered this very reasonably priced saffron to use it in her religious practices and for external use. But Holy Moly! I was taken aback the very instant I used it in food and beverages. Apart from the plethora of health benefits when ingested, it can be implemented for several external and topical benefits which will rejuvenate and nourish your skin. It's a mild saffron but passes the sniff, taste and texture tests; does not fall apart in cooking (ie, not falsified with gelatin). While its flavor is on the mild side, its price and availability make it still more affordable to use than more expensive sources and it makes wonderful saffron rice and works well in making challah. One tin lasted me about ten months, which for less than $20 (even with adding a little extra sometimes to amp up the flavor), I consider quite decent!
