Does this adapter support the displaylink software in the macbook? does it help support multiple external displays on macbook m1 (apple silicon)?

The DKT30CSDHPD3 will be able to output video on any computer which supports video over USB-C. The currently released Apple MacBooks (M1, 2020) supports a single external display over USB-C, therefore, the DKT30CSDHPD3 will work. The DKT30CSDHPD3 does not use DisplayLink technology. Is the usb-c port bi-directional in the sense that i can use a usb-c monitor to power the adapter/laptop and have video go back to the monitor?

Not 100% sure but it's unlikely. The charging port is usb-C but I don't think it allows data in and out.

Will this work with an hp envy 13t- aq000?

The DKT30CSDHPD3 is supported on all systems that offer DisplayPort Alt mode over USB-C. The specs of the Envy appear to show support for this, but it is recommended to refer to your HP documentation to confirm. Brandon, StarTech.com Support
