Truly Effective — Broke the Habit Faster Than I Expected
The TGuard AeroFinger Anti-Finger Sucking Guard has been a huge help for our family. My child had a strong finger-sucking habit, especially during naps and bedtime, and nothing else worked. This guard is soft, lightweight, and surprisingly comfortable — my child adjusted to it quickly. The design is smart: it blocks the suction without hurting or restricting movement. After a few days, we already noticed a decrease in the habit, and after a couple of weeks, it was almost completely gone. The straps keep it secure, even overnight, and the material is easy to clean. I also appreciate that it comes with clear instructions and a progress chart, which kept us consistent. It’s not cheap, but the results are absolutely worth it. If you’re a parent feeling frustrated and out of options, this is an effective and gentle solution.

Works Fast and Fits Well, But Strong Odor !
This product worked like a charm. My daughter had been sucking on her two fingers since she was about 4 months old, and just one full day and night wearing the guard completely broke the habit. The fit is great and it feels durable, so I’m confident it will hold up over time. The only downside is that the plastic has a noticeable, unpleasant smell, which I wasn’t a fan of. Overall, very effective, but the odor could definitely be improved.

MUST READ THIS
Ok, here's the real deal. My son has been a chronic sucker (index and middle) since we unswaddled him at around 6months. Because the hand was so small he did find a way to maneuver his digits out during time alone in his crib. We gave up for several months and almost threw away the product thinking it was worthless. We revisited again after almost 6 months and found reviews mentioning use of a glove IN ADDITION TO the aero finger tguard. DO EXACTLY THAT. find a glove (breathable cotton and slim), not a snow glove and not mittens. We found a pair of "kids paw patrol gloves". Wear the glove under the tguard and DO NOT give up the fight. The will pull at it like a badger for 5-10 days tops. The glove helps to protect the wrist strap from digging into the skin while also making it thick enough where the can't wiggle out their fingers. The oral fixation was so strong, we had to continue treatment for slightly over 90 days. At day 60 we tried a night without it and he sucked to comfort himself back to sleep when waking up from a night terror. We continued treatment for another 30 days and then weened him down to glove only. (He even asks for his glove because he is somused to it now) we've been successful for about 1 week now without a glove. Course of treatment was started around 3 years and 7months old to 3 years 10 months. Stick with it, don't give up 💪🏻 . We found other wrist straps on Amazon that were a bit less expensive than tguard. The straps were a bit thicker than tguard brand but still work just barely. Tguard is a bit overpriced for their extra wrist straps trying to squeeze the consumer for $$. Hunt around and you find 100+ straps for much less. Good luck.

So Glad I Found This!
This thing worked great for my son! it’s thick, durable, and does come with fun colors bands to hold the item in place on their hands/wrists.It actually did the trick. It took about 30 to 60 days, but after that, he no longer put his fingers in his mouth, and the illnesses he used to get, stopped. I would recommend this for any parent who is struggling with getting their child to stop sucking on their fingers or putting their fingers in her mouth for comfort.

Trading One Problem For A Worse One
Buyer beware: this will ABSOLUTELY impair your child's hand use! First of all, it is extremely thick plastic, WAY moreso than it needs to be, so it's difficult to bend (even as an adult) - unless your kid is the hulk. Second, the two fingers are FUSED together! Why?? Absolutely no reason. If the surrounding plastic keeps children from wanting to suck their fingers, why would the two fingers have to be connected to one another? Completely senseless, and again, doesn't allow the child use of those fingers. We'd noticed these issues ourselves, but the final straw was having a friend of ours who's a physical therapist caution us about trying to have the device on as little as possible - while 30 days will break a finger sucking habit, you'll have a whole other problem when your child can no longer use those fingers normally. Shameful and outrageous, especially for such an expensive product in the first place.

Watch for chewing!!!
Our 9 year old daughter sucks her pointer finger. She always has so much so I have a sonogram from being pregnant with it in her mouth and it actually bends slightly different to accommodate. You can imagine it's been a journey. We have tried everything we and others have suggested since she turned 1. She now has horrible dental issues so we are trying this. She understands more than when she was little and usually sucks when watching a movie or asleep now subconsciously. Not many things for a 9 year old to try but she's a petite girl so we have slightly more options in the way of fitted options. The instructions say to check for oral fixation marks. Well the first 10 days went VERY well. No issues which we didn't expect and we were hopeful. Here we are now day 20 and at night she has began to chew on it. She has chewed so much chunks are missing and hanging. Don't want a choking hazard so last night I wrapped them with medical tape. This morning it still looks good. Dirty from stuff sticking to tape but good. It says keep it on for at least 7 days after oral fixation stops so we are hoping we still don't have to go past 30 but it really recomends if you have bumps along the way to go to 40+ days. It stays on constant except I help her in shower wash hair or take off the length of a shower but worry in shower she will go back to it or chew nails basically starting us over. Since she is in school, I have waited until summer break! She has no problem using her hand with it on for most things. She can still climb up to her loft bed at night. It sometimes becomes sweaty and I just dry it out with blow-dryer on cold shot or cool! I would give full 5 stars but feel if oral fixation is a known issue and it costs as much as it does, it should be reinforced with something stronger and less flexible on tips that don't come off. This could be a choking hazard!!!

The Only Thing That Has Worked
My daughter has ALWAYS sucked her two middle fingers and I hoped it would be something she'd grow out of. You can't just take fingers away like you can a pacifier. I tried literally everything to break this habit and nothing would work. I was afraid her finger sucking habit would start effecting her teeth and I don't want her to have to have braces if she otherwise wouldn't need them. I decided to try this contraption hoping it would be successful. I was very happy that the product is Made in the USA. It's very good quality! The design is perfect for keeping fingers out of the mouth. She did however try to bite at it and have a bit of an attitude towards it at first but it only lasted about a day or two. She eventually stopped paying attention to it all together after about 4 to 5 days. We only used this device for almost 3 weeks. I would recommend taking off and washing daily with a gentle soap and warm water. It's important to make sure the device is completely dry before putting it back on your child or it can rub the skin and cause slight irritation. Just make sure the device and your child's hand is complete dry and you shouldn't have any issues. Anyway, after a shower on day 21 I had forgotten to put it back on her at first so I decided to keep an eye on her to see if she would try to go back to sucking and she didn't at all. It's been 3 solid days of her not paying any attention to her fingers. Especially at night which was the worst for her. She has broken the habit in 3 weeks with the TGuard AeroFinger! Very thankful for this! Also side note, if you have any issues or questions the customer support is excellent!

Needs more work
My 2 yr old son has sucked his index and middle fingers since 4 months of age. We let him as a mechanism to self soothe. Now it is hindering his development. I stumbled across TGuard and loved the design. I have a background in healthcare and can see how the design can be effective. My son however bit through the plastic within 24 hrs. I would purchase again but not for 79 USD. It would be cheaper to purchase 2 finger splints or to buddy-tape the fingers…

Successful for our 2-year-old son
I felt like I had to write a review as there has yet to be any Canadian reviews! My son began sucking his index and middle finger around 8 months old and we believed he would out grow it. We noticed it was becoming a problem when his first 2 fingers were becoming deformed/bent due to chronic sucking. I asked everyone you could think of for advice - parents, family members, social media, etc. I finally found my way over to this product on Amazon. It might not be as popular in Canada due to the price-tag, it cost us $150 Canadian and now I see it is $229 Canadian. *Note* (As per other reviews) the T Guard does not come with enough bracelets to make it effective IMO. We did order another set of bracelets from the T Guard company from Amazon for $100 CDN, so again another pricey item, however it is worth it if it can help stop the habit. We began the treatment at 23 months in the summer-time as I am a teacher and I knew I could commit the time and energy required. I will be honest -- sleep was TOUGH! It was pretty much 3-4 weeks of very poor sleep and napping as he was so used to self-soothing by sucking his fingers. I eventually had to re-sleep train him. It was some trial & error to help him sleep -- introducing stuffed animals, blankies, etc. We ended up doing treatment longer than 30 days as when he had the glove off he would still put his fingers in his mouth. We kept the glove on during the day for about 50 days and will now stick to only over-nights (we have lots of extra bracelets now to do this). I will add -- as a teacher, I wanted to approach this in a more 'holistic' way and incorporate social stories and figure out what my son's sensory needs are to really help him break this habit. And it helped! For example, I printed photos of my son doing activities that required his fingers and hands, e.g. "fingers are for riding your bike" we would read this story everyday and then he would be able to recite the mantra back. "Fingers aren't for sucking." So, if he began placing his fingers in his mouth we would be able to remind him what fingers are for. Secondly, I researched sensory needs and why children suck their fingers -- could be 'oral sensory seeking' or proprioceptive sensory seeking behaviours (look it up if you're interested!) Once you look more into it, you'll go down a rabbit hole, but this reminded me of my son ... so to meet his needs we would incorporate 'heavy work' before nap and bedtime, e.g. crashing into couch, carrying heavy items, etc. Lastly, we had my son choose the colour of bracelet he wanted to wear everyday. This helped him have more buy-in! We never treated the glove as a negative thing, also talked about his "super awesome glove" when people would ask. I think he only asked once or twice to have the glove off, other than that he was content wearing it. Finally, I read and re-read other people's reviews, especially four and five star reviews when I was feeling defeated from lack of sleep! Ha. Something that other people have mentioned is finding the right fit so it's not too tight or too loose. We found using athletic tape around the band helpful so it wouldn't bother his wrist and as the day wore on the bracelet loosened up and I never noticed he had any wrist issues with it digging in. All in all, the glove DID work for us. He's had it off now during the day and nap and there has been no finger sucking. I am going to keep it on overnights as he transitions to a new daycare this fall and that can be tough for little ones. Best of luck to other families trying this product, remember it's a commitment! But you can do it and it's worth it in the end :)

Worked perfectly well
After trying several different methods to stop my daughter from sucking her middle and index fingers, I decided to buy this product when she was 16 months old. We only removed it every 2–3 days for cleaning, and I even kept it on during bath time. To my surprise, after just 11 days, she completely stopped sucking her fingers. She is now 18 months old and hasn’t gone back to the habit for over two months. I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt I had to share my experience because I spent a lot of time reading reviews before purchasing and wanted to be sure my money wouldn’t be wasted. Thankfully, it worked for us, and I’m so pleased with the results.

Life Changing
3.5 year old girl, finger sucker day and night. I am an ECE and ITE, so I see this often. We used this product for 2 weeks day and night, changing the band and cleaning it throughly before each night time. Then we went to just using it nightly for the rest of the month. It wow absolutely amazing. You need to go into this knowing that the first 3 days will be absolute garbage, they won’t sleep well, they’ll scream the first night and it will break your heart but that 3rd day it was completely different. I would suggest not changing it or taking it off at all those first 3 days but rather covering it with a glove or plastic bag when they eat or play messy. Make it fun, let them pick the band colour each time. The sticker chart that comes with it is great too. Our daughter worked towards a book and a stuffy and is so proud she gets it this weekend. This is 100% worth it to not need ortho care down the road. I have been recommending this product to every parent. Once your child gets use to it, they don’t even notice it’s there. If you need to take it off and don’t want to put it on again right away, I’d suggest a soft fluffy glove (the cheap ones from the dollarstore) to put it on that hand. My daughter liked to have that for a break sometimes in the 2nd week. Overall, I went in with zero expectations and I am so relieved it worked!

Material is not quality
It seems a lot to pay ($150) for such a small piece of plastic only to see it falling apart in less time than it takes for the habit to be broken.
