Faber-Castell F110012 Polychromos Color Pencil Set, Blue, 12 Pieces

I am truely beginner for using the pencils, but this has been a really fun using these pencils as they are vivid and highly pigmented in nature. They shine and blend very well. The only thing is required a lot of practice to get the desired results and you need patience with the pencils as they are hard and techniques to use them is going from light shade to dark shade and putting layers and layers. In that way they do not get smudged. But, the guide book which comes with the colors should contain the knowledge about mixing colors to produce a different color. So, u need to produce colors by experiments. As comparing with the Derwent vex based pencils, they are very different and stay sharp and long time. No need to sharpen frequently. The have become my facourite. The price u pay for them is really fade in front of the quality of these pencils. One and last thing u can use the paraffin oil like baby oil for smooth blending.

These are some of the best pencils on the market. They are beautifully smooth to use. Change the angle of the pencil it shades really well. The pigmentation of these pencils is just true to colour. Very deep colours, again depending on the angle you use. I had initially used Cretacolour but found them too bothersome to sharpen and kept breaking, and using sandpaper to sharpen them was just not me. So I took the plunge and purchased these. For all artists, for the people who enjoy adult colouring, which I do for colour therapy and stress relief, and to release boredom these are worth every penny. They sharpen really well. Due to limitations to some colours, that of pinks, purples I let loose and purchased the big tin, WOW, very happy. Faber Castel have been around for a few centuries now and one of the best on the market. My suggestion, don't hesitate, its really worth it......Thank you so much Faber Castel for a great product

Wonderful colour pencils. Absolutely worth it if you like drawing and colouring and shading. I bought the 12 pencil set to try them out. Smooth as butter on the paper and also work very well under and over watercolours.

I had bought this set of 60 pencils 2 years back and I had paid 14000 back then. However, I don’t regret because I really love the way these pencils are created and the results they provide. One needs to understand how to use them to be able to create great paintings. These pencils are capable of doing that as long as you know what you’re doing. Coming to the build quality I’d say it’s superior. Pencils look great and it’s fun to handle them. I’ve used them and till date I’v never experienced breakage issues. I sometimes have dropped a few of my pencils accidentally but luckily there was no damage caused to the innner lead of the pencil. It explains the quality of the wax they have used. They blend smoothly on paper and you can do a lot of layering. The results you achieve by using odourless mineral spirits is awesome. If you’re serious about color pencil medium I’d say you should not hesitate because it’s worth considering the quality they offer. I hope this review is helpful 👍🏻

While giving the feedback on Faber castell polychromos, I was over thinking about it! But then I realised that I should mention what is my true opinion. And from my experience, I can assure you that probably this is one of the best colour pencil brand in the whole world ! I saved my money for a long time to buy this item, cause it wasn't even within my budget! It cost 6500 rupee ( for set of 60) and till it's really really expensive for me ! But offcourse I would like to give a big credit to the German company ( Faber castell). Vibrant colours, well lightfast, good quality of wood, nice packing, every necessary colours- all are within the box... Love these colour pencils! Love the quality, how they can be sharpened easily, how they are great for details and how they don't smudge while I work with them (unlike another well known brand from US).

Sono eccezionali. Super pigmentate, brillanti, coprenti e non esageratamente morbide (quindi van bene anche per i dettagli e non si consumano alla velocità della luce. Le ricomprerei altre mille volte!

Comparando com outros lapis que tenho, os polychromos realmente se destacam. Funcionam muito bem com sobreposições de camadas e "blendam" muito bem. O lápis branco cobre muito bem outras cores, inclusive as bem escuras. Não é um bom blender por este motivo. Ainda não testei bem, mas gostei bastante da qualidade. As cores são vibrantes, mas não é tão extraordinário assim, se comparado aos Marco Renoir, e até os Tris supersoft. Mas só quanto a intensidade das cores. Os Marco não se misturam bem, mas tem maior intensidade de cores, e os supersoft até se aproximam dos polychromos em cores e mistura, mas claro, não supera. Mas acho que para 60 lápis, o preço é bem salgado. Na faixa de uns R$300,00 acho que seria um valor justo. Mas eu recomendo, são ótimos, e quase não deixam marcas nas pinturas.

Faber-Castell Polychromos is a beautiful artist quality coloured pencil set. The down-side, they are a expensive; a full set of these is costly which is why I had to settle with a 60-pc set for now (but plan on upgrading again in the near future). This set has a wonderful range of colours, and these pencils are delightful to work with. I am currently in the search for the perfect coloured pencils and I have purchased the main brands along with their water soluble counter-part. All have their pros and cons; as expected, the pricier ones - usually artist grade pencils, are the better products with some exceptions, and the Polychromos are becoming my favourite. Although I still like the Prismacolor due to the range of colours available, its smooth application, and much lower price point (in Canada), the Polychromos are just as dynamic, smooth, with beautiful, vibrant pigments. Another plus and this sets it apart from the Prismacolors: these are durable due to a slightly thicker pencil. Their rich pigments blend and layer well, mixes well with other brands, leaves no wax bloom, and you are able to get a sharp edge with very minimal breakage- actually I've had ZERO lead breakages while sharpening these, unlike Prismacolor, and the Derwent Coloursoft's. The lightfastness of the pigments is outstanding and surpasses Prismacolor; 102 are rated *** (Excellent) , 16 are rated ** (Very Good) with only 2 out of the 120 are rated * (Good). If you are not on a budget and can afford these sets (I recommend the larger sets), these are highly recommended for artists of all ages and skillsets. The only colours where other brands gave the Polychromos a run for their money is the black and White. This is where I found the Prismacolor edged out the Polychromos slightly (although all take a back seat to the exquisitely Black and White Stabilo ALL). Still the Faber-Castell Polychromos is a high quality coloured pencil set; smooth laydown/application, vibrant, professional output, great durability, and a dynamic colour selection of 120 colours. These will enhance all of your coloured pencil art pieces. This handsome 60-pc set contains the pencils within 2 trays- stacked, inside a durable tin, and a small booklet is included. Love it. If price is not an issue fellow artists- get the 120-pc set. Do it!
