Perfect fit
Removing the old fitting was quite a job. Once out putting new fitting in was easy. Snug fit, water tight. No more leak.

It Still Needed One
My John Deere GX325 kept stalling and because I could choke it I could keep it running, so I figured it was a fuel filter problem.I replaced the fuel filter to find that it offered no change to engine stalling. (I pumped some low pressure air into the fuel lines while I had the filter removed. Air bubbles back to the gas tank and no dirt coming out at the fuel pump inlet hose.)I pulled the fuel line off the fuel pumps outlet side and tried to start my JD to find that very little gas came out. (Pumped the gas into a small plastic container.)I replaced the fuel pump and my JD is back to normal.I didn't need the fuel filter to fix my problem but after 25 years of use it still needed a new one.The right price, Easy to install and still the simplest part to "rule out" the root cause. (Yeah, the pump wasn't that hard either.)

This valve assembly is convertible from CW to CCW "on"
My only complaint about these valve cartridges is that the sealing rubber washer on the bottom is what has failed in the ones I have replaced (I do this myself - I'm not a plumber). It is not available as a separate item - so far as I know, it is not. The ceramic inserts have not failed on any of the ones I have replaced. Also, if you have a torque wrench, do use it to tighten this cartridge in place. Too little torque and it will leak, too much and (at least in my experience) it becomes very difficult to remove the next time it needs replacement. We have a Kohler bathroom faucet set with separate hot and cold handles. The sink design makes reaching the valve body difficult. There is a one-inch (or 15/16" - hard to measure) flat on the valve body. I mention this because at the valve insert torque (25-30 inch-pounds) you need to hold that flat so the valve body does not turn. That's the difficult part. I had to use a crow foot wrench to reach it. It might be easier with other sink designs. If you download the installation/repair manual for your faucets that use these valve cartridges, the instructions tell you how to change these cartridges from clockwise to counterclockwise on or off. Easy to do with hand tools - you remove the shaft retaining clip and rotate the stop block by 90-degrees and re-assemble. Purchasing both CW and CCW cartridges is not necessary if you need a CW/CCW pair; you can buy two of the same and change the one you need. Note that this is for this particular valve cartridge; I do not know about other Kohler valve inserts. Also for some faucet handles, you may need a spline shaft size adapter. One comes with the valve insert, but it may be too long for some faucet handles.
