This cheese slicer is perfect if you require extremely thin slices of semi-hard cheese. I use it for the Norwegian cheese Brunost (also known as Gjetost; brand name SkiQueen). and also for medium to sharp cheddars. It's great for dieters, or any cheese lovers simply watching their weight. The thin slices are delicious for strong tasting cheeses, and are excellent on thinly sliced pieces of apple. For best results, your cheese should be cold from the refrigerator when sliced.

I really like to thin slice block cheese to put on various foods ie. open face melts, etc.. This simple tool cost about $7. I did not have to spend 2 to 5 times more for the other hyped slicers. This is real stainless steel. After over 2 years of use there is no sign of rust! Take that!

I love being able to cut my own cheese (I know, I see the funny in this statement), but this product allows me to do it. I had to make a same modification to it as I noticed that it would only cut small slivers of cheese at a time. I took a butter knife and widened the area and now I can get long slices of cheese. I use it almost daily.

I would give it a negative if I could. Slicer blades are so tight together that all you can slice is slivers of cheese. Comes of off if paper thin pieces and not a whole slice just small random pieces. I thought I bought this from our local store so now after first time using it I missed the return window.

This thing slices cheese exactly the way it should! It doesn’t talk back, it doesn’t stay up past bed time, i dont need to supervise it every waking hour. It’s fantastic! If I choose to use a different utensil occasionally not a peep from this guy, he happily looks on while i cheat on him with a big knife to get the job done. The shiny metal increases negative ions in my home by 27% and the shapely shape is sure to be a crowd pleaser at your next soire. Any serious homeowner and cheese cutter in an average income bracket and 4.5 kids living in the western United States who likes to watch TV after kids go to sleep should have this gizmo at the ready. In fact, it should probably receive its own special hook prominently displayed on your front door, so all your neighbors and amazon package delivery persons know your serious about life.

Here are your choices, cheeseheads. Pre sliced- for microwaved bread. Deli sliced, no more than 150 grams, consumed in two days. Block. Fine, you can pare ou bits with a paper, slice as needed with a good knife, kept clean and honed. Or this. It’s OK, but the slicer blade isn’t very sharp. Cheap enough though, and if you keep gobbling cubes of Cheddar, your Cardiologist might upgrade his Macan to a GTS model.

And she loves it. Being older, she has a hard time cutting cheese with a knife and as shaky as her hands are, I worry about her trying to do that when I'm not around. This slicer is small enough for her to hold comfortably, and cuts a nice thin piece of cheese. It easily goes into the dishwasher, too, which is an added plus.

It works great but it slices the cheese very thin! I like it that way but some may not!
