Great product
I recently picked up the Fire-Maple Fixed Star 1 portable cooking stove, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. It’s lightweight, compact, and comes with both an integrated igniter and a fuel regulator — making it incredibly easy to use right out of the box. One feature I really appreciated was the regulator knob, which allows you to fine-tune the flame. Whether you’re simmering or bringing water to a quick boil, the control you get with this stove makes outdoor cooking much more enjoyable. I'll admit I was skeptical at first — the Fixed Star 1 is priced lower than some of the bigger-name brands, and buying a lesser-known product can be a bit of a gamble. But this turned out to be a true gem for the price. It's well-built, efficient, and performs just as well as more expensive stoves I’ve used in the past. Another plus: I was able to detach the base and use it with a small cooking pan, which added even more versatility to my setup. Overall, if you're looking for a reliable and affordable portable stove, the Fire-Maple Fixed Star 1 is definitely worth considering.

Excellent Compact Stove – Reliable, Versatile, and Leak-Free
I went into this purchase with managed expectations, especially since I passed on more expensive name brands like Jetboil. I'm glad I did. This stove has exceeded all my expectations in terms of fit, functionality, and compactness. The fuel canister fits neatly inside the pot with the stove, making it extremely portable and packable—perfect for quick access on the go. I tested it at home first (always a good idea), and it performed flawlessly. On a recent trip through rural Kansas, it came in clutch. I was able to boil water in about 2 minutes, letting me rehydrate homemade freeze-dried meals and brew a solid cup of coffee right at a rest stop. There was zero leakage, even after being jostled around in my pack. The stove quality feels solid and reliable—definitely not cheap or flimsy. This will be a staple for future camping and fishing trips. Highly versatile, incredibly functional, and totally worth the buy. If you're on the fence, don’t let the brand name steer you away—this one delivers.

Hiking must have
I absolutely love the Fire-Maple Fixed Star 3 Personal Cooking System. I use it regularly on my backpacking and hiking trips, and it has been incredibly reliable. It heats up water and food really quickly, which is perfect after a long day on the trail when you just want a hot meal or coffee fast. The system is compact and easy to pack, and I appreciate how everything fits together nicely without taking up much space in my bag. The electric ignition is also super convenient, so I don’t have to mess with matches or a lighter when I’m outdoors. Overall, this has become one of my favorite pieces of gear for camping and backpacking. It’s efficient, lightweight, and perfect for anyone who spends time outdoors and wants a simple, dependable cooking system. ⛺🔥🥾

Great stove, but with one problem.
Just tested this out on a two-week camping trip, and it performed great! Normally, I make things like burgers, pasta, chili, etc with a larger stove and pots and pans, but since I was going to be gone for so long, I really needed to pack minimally. I found this stove, and after comparing to other similar products, I decided to go with this one. I'm so glad I did! It boils water quickly and efficiently, it's so compact and lightweight, it's easy to clean, and it's so easy to set up and ignite that a dummy like me can do it. I boiled water, yes, but I also made things like ramen, boil-in-bag rice, and even re-heated my coffee once when I needed to tend to something else and it got cold. It's just anodized aluminum, so as long as you're using silicone tools to cook and aren't scratching it, you're good to go. I was thinking that maybe I'd be able to sautee up some onions and garlic to do chili at some point, but maybe I shouldn't press my luck. Don't think that's its intended use. Anywho, why 4 stars instead of 5? Unless I'm doing something wrong, there's what I perceive to be a design flaw that gets in the way of usability. There is a hole for pouring out the water so you don't have to take the lid off. Brilliant, right? Well, not if there's only one hole. You know how when you go out and get hot coffee, there's the drinking hole, and another tiny one on the other side of the lid? Yeah, there's a reason for that. That's so the coffee flows smoothly and doesn't splash around and burn you. When dealing with boiling water, this feels like a huge oversight to me, because the water does not flow smoothly or predicably. Not only that, but for some reason, when you get down to the .5 litre mark, the water stops pouring out completely, so I have to take the lid off (extremely carefully, because of course it's boiled water) to get the rest of the water out. Don't know if that's just a defect of the one I got, or if others have experienced this problem. It's not enough of a reason for me to return it, but it is quite nerve-wracking trying not to get burned by the steam while I attempt to get ALL the water out. I'll probably just poke my own hole in it and see if that fixes the problem. Still recommend overall. It made cooking something I didn't have to worry about!

Great for making coffee or canned stew at camp.
Works great. I also ordered the adapter for the regular green 1lb bottles of propane with it. As well as the French press kit too. It made my cowboy coffee perfectly and it was faster then my regular coffee pot. The only thing I would change is put arrows on which way to turn the gas knob for high and off on the side of the burner. It was easy to light and use. It also packs down pretty small so storage is alot easier in my camping rig. I can see where it would be versatile for cooking small amounts of food like canned stew or noodle etc. It works as well as the bigger name version but costs alot less.

Best Stove!
Easily my favorite stove. easy set up and easy to clean! Super light and easy to store! Works with all butane canisters and doesnt seem to over use fuel. There is 0 hassle with igniting the stove EVEN in high winds. 10/10

Great value.
I love this thing. It heats water quickly, lights reliably and is eerily fuel efficient. The handle and lid work well and with the plastic base it's quite stable, despite being so tall. I appreciate that I do not need to baby it in wind and rain the way one does with more bare-bones arrangements. One minor nit is that, beause I keep the stabilizer on top of the stove to protect the igniter in the pot, but that does mean the gas either has to sit on the outside or the lid doesn't quite fit over the whole thing. In practice it doesn't really change my packing - it all fits in my pack, and the wider pot means you can cook things in it if you don't mind doing dishes. It's fast and painless enough to allow a quick cup of tea during a cold hike. I haven't really done much with the little pan holder - I'm not usually that interested in doing complex cookery at the end of a backpacking day, but it's an option if you're feeling inspired. I will say the outfit is more focused on boiling water/wet cooking than even heat distribution for frying. My buddy was a bit scornful when he first saw it. Now he wants to borrow it all the time!

Excelente a 4500 msnm y 0°C
Llevé esta estufa hasta el albergue Norte del Pico de Orizaba en México, aprox. 4500 msnm y días de 0°C, y funcionó perfectamente. Mucho más económica que la misma versión de marca famosa.
