Design toscano ng29870 asian decor pagoda lantern indoor/outdoor statue, 11

This is a lovely piece -- exactly as it was pictured. It is solidly built, but not tremendously heavy. The temperature outside is 13 degrees right now, but spring is on the way. I cannot wait to put this out in my garden. It is almost 18 inches tall, but I plan to top it with a large marble. I will also sit it on a piece of slate or fieldstone to keep it even. I looked for weeks trying to find just the right piece, and I did it.

This is a very nice little lantern. It is just the right size to add just the right amount of ambience to a landscape. The only little difficulty I had was in getting the lantern out of the very close tolerant packaging in styrofoam. Please be very careful when you are removing the lantern from the very tight styrofoam it comes in. Please be careful or it will be an "oops, what the heck!" situation as the lamp jumps out at you with your serious pulling of the lantern.

I really like the looks of this lantern, it fits in my landscape very well. The only downside would be that it is designed for illumination by a candle. To convert it into a LED lighted unit I had to modify it to be waterproof (there is a vent at the top) and to drill the lantern for a LED unit and wiring. If you wish this lantern to function as an electrically illuminated unit and have the skills and tools to complete the task I can recommend this lantern for that purpose. If you are only looking for an attractive lantern to enhance your home without the aforementioned modifications I would also recommend this lantern as from my prospective it is quite attractive especially at its price point.

These are great outdoor design pond and yard products, but Design Toscano has just recently gone out of business and availability of their products has already become very limited. Get them while you can still do so.

I like everything about this pagoda. It is sturdy, detail is good and it arrives in 2 pieces. A top sand bottom, very easy to put together. It does have a space for a candle with a timer. Highly recommend

This is a beautiful addition to my Japanese garden and doesn't look like resin, even close up. I wish they hadn't put a hole on the top of the pagoda; I assume they did it to vent if someone put a candle in there, though I don't understand why someone would put a burning candle in the thing; even a tea light would be dangerous. That being said it's my only negative observation. Larger than it looks in the picture. Well worth the price and packed incredibly well in full molded styrofoam so no chance of damage in shipping. Can't beat the price.

Good price, attractive and very lightweight but looks like the heavy stone lanterns. I was able to install a low voltage light up through the base of the pagoda (interior is hollow) without too much trouble and hook it into my landscape low voltage lighting. Really like the look especially at night when its lit up. I live in the Pacific Northwest so I will find out how well the lantern holds up post winter exposure. Instructions say to bring it indoor to avoid severe winter conditions - so I will find out if the winters in/around the Seattle area are mild enough.

First of all I like the fact that it is lightweight and can easily be moved instead of trying to drag a heavy cement object. When I first got it, I thought it looked a bit tacky, but I learned that it matters where you place it and that controls how it looks in your garden and that I found a good spot for it. The thing that disappointed me the most was when a tree fern leaf fell on top of it and broke the top part of the lantern. I feel that it is too delicate for the price because now I have to throw it out and I had it for a short time before this happened.
