It really helps
We suspect we have a dead mouse or rat in the wall behind our wall oven. The smell is horrendous and is permeating out of the cabinets above and below the oven. We have gotten service quotes from handymen to remove the oven and open that wall and “look” for the source of the smell, quotes from $209 an hour to $1200 for one day job. Just to look! One handyman said he would pull out the oven and open the wall to help me locate the dead mouse, but I would have to call a pest control company to remove the animal before he could patch the wall and reinstall the oven. He said he doesn’t handle dead animal sanitation/removal. He estimated $1500-$2000, again if he found the animal! What if they can’t find it, I’m out all that money without guaranteeing the problem will be solved. So my pest control man gave me one of these Earth Care bags to hang in the cabinet above the oven. He said he swears by these bags for situations like mine, and the bags are safe around pets and kids. Within 24 hours of hanging the bag above the oven I noticed the smell had decreased. The smell was still present, but definitely not as bad. I ordered one more Earth care bag to put in the cabinet beneath the oven. And same thing after 24 hours I noticed a definite improvement. I am very sensitive to odors, so I can clearly still smell something when I walk in my kitchen, but it is no where close to the smell it originally was. So I would definitely recommend this product if you are desperate and the smell is beyond tolerable…this will make a difference. I would recommend buying two bags. If one works to eliminate the odor great, keep the other one for another day or another use. But if after 24 hours the smell only slightly improves try both bags.

Saved my sanity
These bags were recommended on a forum I came across. We had rats. Like really?! I tried to trap, then catch them. I knew the odor they would leave behind with poison. But I ended up having to bait my house and garage. I finally noticed no activity and knew they were all dead... In my walls and between my upper and lower floor. My lower level started slightly smelling...I seemed to be the only one that noticed. Then within two days, full on rotting corpse. I live in Florida so when I say the humidity made the sink worse, I mean it. I have a 1500 sqft lower level (that's what stunk so noticeably). I noticed it really smelled the worst along the back wall. So I hung two... One in the kitchen and one in the living room. It does specifically tell you they NEED to hang and you need to ventilate with a window open and circulate with a ceiling fan. I didn't have a lot of hope for it to work. But we were close to not living in the lower level until it decided to turn to dust! I hung it around 8pm. I turned off my scent diffusers (it will remove that smell too). By the next morning I noticed it was fast more bearable. Wasn't great. But you could deal. I opened the doors back up for the day. Within the next 15 hours the scent cleared out entirely. You can't "air out" dead rat smell. You can't cover it. You can't wait it out. Especially when you're pretty sure there's about 6-8 that are dead. But I'm telling you, these worked and worked quickly. I will be leaving them up for the next few months until I know that their tiny corpses have fully eradicated. Don't listen to the people that are all... Oh don't waste your money they don't work. I'll bet money they didn't hang them or take them out of the plastic bag they come in! Trust me when I say, people aren't the brightest.

4 bags, $75.00 and it did nothing
We tried numerous things to get rid of mice. Not sure what caused them to enter our home, they were actually in the wall. We heard them in the back bedroom and front room. Finally after being worried that they could chew up our electrical we put poison under our mobile home. We live in a retirement community at the Texas/Mexico border and I've heard a few people had trouble with them but generally only if a cold snap was headed for us which is rare. The sounds stopped after a few days after putting out the poison but then it started to stink....BAD! They apparently died in the bedroom wall but the smell drifts through the entire home. I tried a big industrial fan/ceiling fans and 2 floor fans and with the windows open and AC on in 100+ temps. This is day 6 and we just can't take it, there is no way to remove the varmints unless we tear out the walls! Anyway, we bought 4 of these bags ($75.00 for the special to get one bag free) to hang in the bedroom, we left 2 windows cracked and had the bags hanging on coat hangers with NO change! I sat down tonight and cried like a baby because we don't know what else we can do. If we were able I swear we'd move out!

Dead rodent odor improved in a week. Not gone. Does not removed odor in 24 hours.
UPDATE: All the same seller. Purchased 1st one arrived overnight. Purchased 2nd one it then said taking over a week to arrive wouldn't let me cancel. In that very same moment I ordered a 3rd that arrived overnight. Returning #2 that took over a week to arrive did not receive it in time.. I don't understand why this happened with exact same seller. Obviously this is a product that when you need it you need it ASAP! More time passed odor persists. Nothing gone in 24 hours. I would say it is definitely helping. I would purchase it again. It's been hanging there over a week. Still have had to vacate bedroom due to odor. It helps I would say notably? Does not solve the problem. Still I would recommend. None of these types of things work as stated. deducting a star due to not holding up to stated odor gone in 24 hours and wildly erratic shipping speeds. ______________________________________ was leery and desperate. I had a mouse (that likely died from the bait box in the garage) that got into the house in a roof hatch closet while the access hatch to the plumbing pipes was open. I called a pro. He said it was a mouse. I cannot believe the odor that came from that. Was also raining so I could not open the windows. The entire house smelled. It was the professional who suggested this product. Odor so bad been sleeping on the couch downstairs and ready to go to a hotel. I have to say there was significant improvement in 24 hours after hanging this product. 48 hours later I can barely smell it. BUT I do have the closet shut tight and TAPE ON ALL THE SEAMS on the door to try to keep the odor from continuing to come in. Tomorrow I may take the tape off and open the door to check further. Also it was a cooler out these last two days. I will update my review as I learn more. So far this product kept me from throwing luggage in the car and fleeing my home. I would recommend this product. Hope I never need it again, but if I do I would not hesitate to get this product again.

It works. Elevating it seems to be the trick to it
It works. What I really like is that it REMOVES the odor instead of just covering it up with another scent like other products I’ve tried. The key is placement, especially when dealing with a dead rodent in the wall. I bought two bags just in case. I originally placed one on the floor by the baseboard and the other on top of the toilet since the smell was coming through the bathroom wall. The one on the toilet seemed to be doing most of the work. After it started working, I moved that bag to the bedroom (opposite side of the wall) because I noticed a faint smell there, but that didn’t help. (Was placed on baseboard in bedroom) Eventually, the horrible smell came back in the bathroom. Once I put the bag back on the toilet, the smell disappeared again shortly after. What I realized is that elevating the bag seems to help, maybe because odor gases rise. If you think it’s not working for you, try moving it higher. Also, give it a few hour, it’s not instant, but you WILL notice a difference. It might take a little trial and error with where you place it, but it’s definitely not a waste of money.

OMG. Already so much better
Update: It's been about a week and while the worst of the odor is gone, I can definitely still smell it in places despite the nearby presence of two bags. (The third went into the attic last week -- the source of the odor.) It is better sometimes than others. It was better earlier this week, but today I definitely notice it. Overall I am still pleased as it was rank, but would like to figure out how to get the last of the smell out. So . . . Something died under the attic floor above the ceiling. No, I can't get it out so I'm just going to have to tough it up. I bought some kind of gel odor remover which did pretty much nothing. The best I've been able to do is cover it up some with cloyingly sweet Glade Air fresheners. They are pretty awful by themselves, but still somewhat better than the putrid stench of dead animal. I've started crying the last two nights wondering how long this was going to last. In desperation yesterday I bought three of these bags which were delivered this afternoon. OMG, already so much better. I don't think it's all gone yet and I've been afraid to open my closet where some of the smell has accumulated. But six hours later, huge improvement. Tomorrow I'll move one into the closet and toss another one in the attic, as recommended. The instructions say one bag for 100 SQ feet. My house is under 700 sq ft (so truly no place to hide from this!). The affected area was was about 1/3 of house, hence I bought three as recommended. If you're dealing with the noxious odor of a decomposing animal, I'd suggest not being stingy and go ahead and purchase multiple bags. I like that they don't have an odor of their own. So that's my take on the product six hours later. I'll report back if the odor suddenly reappears full on again tomorrow.

Worked okay, not a miracle.
I have a dead animal in my chimney that was smelling up most of the downstairs of my house during the summer months. I tried taking apart the fireplace to get to it, but couldn't pinpoint the exactly location and thought I would have to do some demolition to get at the smell. I bought this hoping it would vanquish the smell. I've had the bag in place for at least a month now. I don't know if the smell has decreased because of the cooler weather (I live in North Florida) or because of the bag. There were still times when I could detect a faint dead animal smell, but not as strong as before (again, I don't know if it was the bag or decomposition running its course). It was worth a shot and if it decreased the horrible smell even a little bit (which it seems like it did), it was worth it to me.

It worked!!
I never leave reviews but I’m coming back to leave one here and confirm this bag WORKED LIKE A CHARM we have been trying to self manage the smell for three days and it’s been awful. Saw this on tik tok, bought this product and it smelled so much less bad 4 hours later and the next morning the odor is basically gone!!

Completely eliminated dead rodent odour in four days
Truly delivered on product descriptions promises. I was worried after viewing so many different “odor absorbers” online that had negative reviews that it would actually do anything. But it eliminated the overpowering smell of a dead mouse carcass stuck in our wall within three/four days. I did pair this with ventilating the room with an open window and a fan pushing air out during the day. But by morning it was still putrid again, and this took care of the residual odours so quickly. Very impressed and will use again for any STRONG unpleasant smells.
