Does the Flipper Max float when the inner magnet separates from the outer magnet? Does it do a good job cleaning algae on 1" glass?

Hey Dennis, the flipper will not float when separated. It works great on 1" glass.

Would the max be an overkill on a 125

It really depends on the thickness of the glass or plexiglass. Some custom built 125 gallon tanks have very thick glass but some are very thin. If your glass is 3/8 inch or thicker - this glass cleaner is perfect for you.
