A gentle reminder of what it means to be human
I Am Human feels like a quiet, heartfelt conversation about empathy and kindness. Susan Verde’s words are simple but powerful, making it easy for kids (and adults!) to understand that being human means feeling a whole mix of emotions, and that’s okay.Peter H. Reynolds’ soft, warm illustrations add so much depth without being too much. They create a comforting atmosphere that matches the message perfectly. This book is a wonderful way to help little ones (and grown-ups, too) remember to be gentle with themselves and others. If you want a book that teaches empathy in a way that feels natural and loving, this one’s a beautiful choice. It’s like a little reminder to slow down and care a bit more.

Beautiful book
Amazing message. This series of three books have helped soothe this mama's heart for sure. And I can't imagine how powerful it would have been had I been read these books as a child. So reassuring to basic human emotions and needs, but also shows clear examples of how to help others in their time of need. It also highlights how we can accidentally hurt those around us without even noticing. I think this is a critical book to read to young children, and to read it very often so the message resonates. Definitely check out the rest of the I Am Human books! The illustrations that go along with it are so beautifully detailed. Have gifted this book to several friends with littles, who have reached out to say how truly touching this book was for them. Great bonding opportunity

A must have book
This board book is great and should be part of every library. Especially great for kids of all ages. This is one of those books that every child should own. It should be in lobbies and offices wherever children go to wait. It should be in every child's classroom. After reading it you might want to get a copy for every little kid you know. And once you fall in love with this one, you might check out her other books too. (Or maybe you already have.) So good. Happy, sweet, meaningful, joyful, delightful books to make anyone smile and feel all warm n cuddly. This book and the others in this line are THE books. You won't be disappointed. The board book format is awesome.

Great book. suitable for age 3 as well
I ordered the hard cover. It is short and easy to follow, the images are great my little one was very interested in them. It lets the child explore emotions through the story, with acceptance and kindness. Exactly what i was looking for.

Sweetest Children’s Book
I am absolutely in love with this book, it has become my absolute undisputed favorite. You have a kid to celebrate? You get this book. You’re one of my preschoolers? You get this book for your end of year gift. You are a future teacher? Here’s your gift when you get that license no matter the age you plan to teach. I have purchased over 30 copies of this book to give to others because I find it to be that special. The illustrations are beautiful and interesting for kiddos to look at. The message on each page is so SWEET and teaches young ones about being human. I hope my students carry these messages with them through their entire lives. Seriously, the sweetest book in the world. Love love love.

Some really good things about being human
Optimistic and a winner; this book will leave your little one feeling comforted. And whether you read it during the day or as a bedtime story, I think you might be rewarded with a little smile. It’s a book about being connected and all the good things that a human can do and feel. And it’s an acknowledgement that yes, everyone feels sad sometimes, or maybe makes bad choices sometimes. But we can always start to make good choices and turn things around. And it celebrates being human. This book is simple and delightful. It’s for ages 4-8 and the odds are good your little one will want to read it over and over again. Yup, it’s one of those. The whimsical pictures by illustrator Pete Reynolds make exploring each new page a fun discovery, and author Susan Verde infuses the book with cheerfulness.

Such important messages delivered in a pleasant and beautiful way!
An excellent book! We had a great discussion about empathy in my 4th grade class, today. We used this book as the basis for our discussion. The illustrations are beautiful, and the prose are simple, yet powerful and effective. There are a few pages I’d like to make into posters and hang in my classroom to remind my class of the message we got from this book. I will definitely be referencing this book throughout the year, and bringing it out whenever conflicts between students arise. If you loved I am Peace, you'll love this book just as much, or even more!
