PGF Gold TP Horsepower Pro Forged Individual Iron [Utility Driving Iron]

I'm a 12-15 handicap golfer, so no pro. I normally prefer steel shafted wedges but figured I'd give this a shot. Although it came as regular flex, it feels stiffer than expected which I like. Hit well on full swings, a little bit more distance, but on shorter distance chips and pitches this hit surprisingly well, which was less expected. Good looking club and a very decent value for your average golfer.

The PGF Golf wedge was ordered for use in playing & practicing golf.The golf club was received and tested the same day for about an hour and compared against a Callaway Paradym-X pitching wedge. From a performance standpoint, balls hit with the PGF club seemed to come off the clubface much hotter than the Callaway. Distances were similar on average in the 120 yard range since I did not try to overswing either club. The shaft of the PGF club seemed to be a little whippier than the Callaway even though they are both "regular" shafts. Part of that may be length of the PGF club which I will comment on later. The PGF club was not as accurate as the Callaway, though it somewhat close. I just felt like I could control the Callaway much easier than the PGF. The PGF club did not produce as much spin as the Callaway, and I did not feel like produce as much backspin on a shot with the PGF. The PGF club produced a solid feel that was similar to that of the Callaway club. The PGF club was easy to hit, and would be a good club for a beginner or one who is seeking to get better through practice.At set-up the look of the club is solid. One just feels like a golf ball could be struck easily and go a mile. Finally, the clubs are moderately price, and certainly inexpensive as golf clubs go.There are a couple of issues that I had with the pitching wedge that would probably apply to the other clubs as well. When the length of the PGF pitching wedge was compared to the Callaway pitching wedge, the PGF was approximately 2.5 inches longer than the "standard" length that comes with the Callaway. I am 5'10" tall and would have needed to be at least 6'3" tall to use this club. I was choking down about 4 - 5 inches on the PGF whereas I normally choke down about an inch on the Callaway. Thus, I would need to alter the shaft by several inches in order for me to play it with consistency. Second, the shaft is described as being a "regular" shaft though it seemed to be a little "whippy" to be a regular shaft. And finally, if one has larger hands, the grip would need to be changed from what is installed to a mid-sized grip.BOTTOM LINE: This is a good, inexpensive club for one who is a beginner or higher handicap player. It has decent balance and the club did produce good shots. For anyone buying these clubs, they should be aware that the clubs would probably need to be modified in order to be well-fitting. Buying a set of these irons would not break the bank for a beginning golfer.

Solid club for the price. Light weight and feels great in the hand. The grip feels solid and the club looks very good. Performance wise it did work well and had good carry of my golf ball.
