Swanson NAC N-Acetyl Cysteine 600 mg, 100 Vegan Capsules

My husband started taking this NAC supplement as part of his goal to improve his overall health, and we’ve been really happy with it so far. He was looking for something to support his liver and overall wellness, especially since he’s been focusing more on long-term health and energy. The capsules are easy to swallow and don’t have a strong aftertaste, which was important to him because he’s picky about supplements. It’s hard to measure supplements in dramatic ways overnight, but he says he feels good taking it and likes knowing he’s supporting his body with a trusted antioxidant. Overall, we’re pleased with the quality and value and plan to keep using it as part of his daily routine.

My son has been pulling his hair out since he was six (he's almost 11) and I tried all kinds of techniques and tricks to get him to stop. Parents who are dealing with this should know, shaming and berating make no difference. My son was already ashamed and felt so defeated by his trich that I knew his lack of control wasn't by choice. He often pulled without realizing it, like when your eating popcorn while watching a movie and before you know it, all the popcorn is gone. He also used it to soothe, like some people do with food or alcohol. Then one day I read about some studies using this supplement to help trich sufferers. I read the reviews and saw it did help some people (although not all). I didn't have high hopes, but I figured why not? It's been about three months (1 capsule a day seems to be enough for his 65 pounds) and my son now has a super thick head full of hair and I no longer see tufts of hair all around his bed. He had one little episode of pulling in the front, but once he became aware of it he was able to stop. This is the first time in 6 years that he hasn't begged me to wear a cap or try to fill in his bald spots with a sharpie marker. Even his doctor was surprised by the results. Thank goodness for the other reviewers who convinced me to give it a try. Update: it's been a year. My son no longer pulls and he is off the supplement! I was so worried this was going to last the rest of his life. He still has a strange sensory need to "pet" his hair, but he does not pull. Yay! Update #2: 2 years, he still pets some, but not like before where it was constant. That is also diminishing. I have found the occasional small knot of hair on the floor (like one every 3 months), where I think he was super stressed and rubbed his hair between two fingers until it knotted and fell out, but it doesn't happen enough to be a concern. He loses more hair when he uses his brush. Update #3: 4 years and he no longer pets his hair. I haven't seen knotted bits or anything. Now he's a vain peacock when it comes to his hair, primping in front of the mirror and combing it just right.

This is a great product if you tend to get lung congestion from allergies or end up with a bad chest cold/congestion, or if you have respiratory influenza. I have researched the side effects, and believe me, that took a little doing for *oral* acetyl-cysteine. Acetyl-cysteine is used in nebulizer treatments for people with pneumonia / severe respiratory congestion. It works very well to thin secretions so that they can be coughed out and breathing becomes easier. However, the nebulizer treatments stink (and taste) like rotten eggs. I got this because the smell and taste of the nebulizer treatments would make me throw up within just a few minutes. I had to time my eating so that nebulizer treatments were at least two hours after I had eaten. Taking the oral form is better, for me because there's no nausea involved. There are some contraindications if you have low blood pressure or take nitroglycerin for a heart condition. So, if I get a little congested I take this. If I'm a lot congested - pneumonia-like, well then, I have to do a neb treatment. I have both on hand. Take with food and don't exceed the maximum dosage. From one study I saw, 600 mg, twice a day, was the max. As it can be irritating on the stomach, take with food only.

My ophthalmologist recommended this combined with vitamin A and omega oils daily for dry eye to promote tear production. Bee. Using for about a week & starting to notice a difference especially when wearing my contacts.

Incredibly cheap and overwhelmingly useful, I highly recommend N-Acetyl Cysteine to anyone who has to take medicine regularly that can put a strain on your liver! I have been in pain management for the last 6 years, and I daily have to take a pain medication that can, over time, put a strain on your liver function and possibly cause liver damage. But N-Acetyl Cysteine is a great supplement that increases cellular glutathione, and allows your liver to regenerate itself! This is a great supplement for anyone who takes regular pain medication, or even tylenol on a regular basis - it will help your liver repair itself and increase liver function - so it is also good for anyone who drinks alcohol! I have been using it for a couple of years now, and I have to say, it really works! I always feel good, and whenever I have my yearly liver test blood work done (I have to have it tested once a year because as I said, I take a pretty strong pain medication every day) I always have a perfectly normal result. So if you need something to help boost your liver function, or even to help repair any of your body's organs, I highly recommend N-Acetyl Cysteine - it increases your cellular glutathione amounts in every cell, and this is the substance that your cells use to repair and regenerate themselves!

I have been taking this NAC supplement, and I believe it has been beneficial in managing my endometriosis-related pain. I haven’t experienced any side effects while taking it, and there is no unpleasant aftertaste. Overall, it has been a very positive addition to my regimen.

Excelente antioxidante

I just tried this NAC for the first time today. I do seem to be breathing better but I have also used Hot Chocolate which has about ten times as much Theophylline and Theobromine in it as prescription mucolytics do. HOWEVER, I have high hopes of a good response to the NAC because of what I have read. I have a genetic mucous condition that grows worse with age that makes me more vulnerable to the coronavirus. I have HIGH hopes of thwarting some of the potential for a personal disaster if I get exposed to the coronavirus. This NAC of yours is very easy to take but I have no idea what dose to use. However, I read that it is so safe to take that an overdose is highly unlikely. In the meantime, I intend to start using this daily during the morning hours when my lungs need clearing from my Viscid Catarrh more than the rest of the day. Of what I have read about your NAC product, it would seem that most people who are afraid of the respiratory problems that send people to the hospital would naturally want to try NAC if they started showing any symptoms of upper or lower respiratory illness.
