I bought this to house an iguana. Upon opening the box I noticed that the pieces seem well constructed. But... I wouldn't put a cat in this thing right out of the box. Let alone an iguana. The stain used smells highly noxious. Presumably toxic. I will follow up as I have more info. I will be using it indoors so I can't give feedback on assembly yet. I'll also let you know how long it takes to air out. As promised. The noxious odor dissipated almost completely within a few hours. I expect it will be gone by morning. 😀 Still oxidizing the VOCs out.

My cat like it to a degree. I wish the shelves came with some type of padding or material for comfort. But I can always add that myself.

This catio arrived early wich was nice. What isn't nice is that you'd need an engineering degree to pur this together. Luckily I have a family member with one of these. The instructions are pictures with no exploded diagram to show how parts go together, and only half of the parts are pre-drilled. The instructions say you need power tools to put this together. The metal mesh is stretched and flimsy in places, the roof is a thin plastic tarp attached with velcro and though this is an outdoor catio, the roof won't hold up to outdoor environments or active cats for long. This catio is a pile of half finished parts. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE WHO LACK POWER TOOLS OR DONT HAVE HELP PUTTING IT TOGETHER.

This was a great purchase for a reasonable price. My brother in law and his son put this together in 3 hours. Be prepared to modify the entrance if you are connecting this to a window. If it isn’t flush up against the house, the catio entrance will need a tube from the window to the catio opening. I bought a 10” outdoor rigid HVAC tube and it worked great. To lock the catio you will need very small locks. Tiny. I used zip ties.
