I have thin, fine, gray hair that's not quite to my shoulders. Left to its own devices it's curly when it first dries and then turns to Brillo pad frizz. I generally blow it dry to straighten it into a bob. This gadget is a great second-day tool for me...it smooths the frizz that seems to develop overnight...despite using a silk pillow case. Since I'm a klutz, I use a heat proof glove when using any hot hair tools.

Update: I just realized I didn’t mention anything about additional shine, which is probably why most customers would be interested in this brush. I have thick, coarse hair that tends to be a bit frizzy and almost devoid of shine. After using this product I will say I do notice a slightly increased degree of shine, but I would not be inclined to endorse it for this particular reason alone, as it’s only a minimal improvement. Overall I’m happy with the performance of this brush. I was looking for something to use on dry hair that would simply calm it down a bit and make it look more compact and less voluminous—not necessarily straighten it to the point where it was “as straight as a stick.” This accomplishes my goal by flattening out any unsightly bump or other minor out of place wave or bit of frizz, without the use of intense, potentially damaging heat. My only complaint is the placement of the buttons on the handle. If I hold it where it is most comfortable to use and balance the weight of the brush I find that I have the unfortunate tendency to press the on/off switch or temperature control. If I attempt to hold it in a location where I will avoid touching the control buttons, it feels unwieldy and off balance. This isn’t the first time I’ve had such a problem with a similar device, but I first encountered this years ago. I should think this type of problematic design flaw would have been avoided by now. In any event, I am keeping the brush because it quickly accomplishes the purpose without a great deal of skill required on the part of the user and without an intense amount of heat.

I have found this product a wonderful addition to my haircare routine. I am pretty lazy, and this gives me a sleek, shiny, natural look.
