Royal & Langnickel 325155 Royal and Langnickel Detail Taklon Variety Brush Set - Gold (Pack of 7)

Have used this makers paint brushes for upward of 20 years. These are for fine and medium detail and I use for both water colour and acrylic on canvas and on a good quality watercolour paper. They are their basic brushes, but not so basic and treated with care will outlast many more expensive. They have good spring back and a shorter comfortable handle. I also use their Zen brushes, they are more expensive but have a more refined tip. Any work will depend on the quality of paints used . Most cheaper paints will have low density of colour. Just starting a few primary good quality colour will do plus white.

Midwinter Minis endorsed these and I can see why, they are nothing fancy but they get the job done quite well

Been looking for small, accurate brushes and these exceeded my expectations. Would definitely buy these again.

Good quality as expected from this brand

They're ok for general large area painting but for miniature painting, not so much. Many of the brushes lose their tip after the first paint session and then just become fluffy and hard to control. Not bad for the price, but better and cheaper brushes out there for mini painting.

At first they seemed okay but then with only a bit of use the bristles started disappearing into the metal part, one brush went pretty much after using once. Such a shame. They are okay though otherwise.

These arw great value brushes. I'm quite hard kn brushes and they don't last long so these are ideal.

I had been looking for paintbrushes that could handle the detail work I like to do, and these are perfect! They are short, so they fit nicely in my hand, and I can keep better control of what I'm doing. They are a little pricey and the shipping charges are outrageous. I had to think long and hard before deciding to make this purchase. I will buy these brushes again, just not from Amazon, unless they get put on the prime shipping program. The brushes themselves are excellent and highly recommended. Just don't pay Amazon's shipping, go to Michael's or Jerry's Artarama. Happy Creating!

They hold the paint well and are easy to hold and maneuver. In fact, I bought a second set. Excellent value.

Having previous experience with other low-end brush sets, I knew what to expect with this set, and thus was not disappointed. The package included a brush with a separated ferrule, and several had lost their protective caps, which allowed the bristles to become mangled during shipment. But when I went in on this $1.42 per brush, set, it was to resupply my inventory of brushes for modeling. My brushes get thrashed; the streaking, rusting, and dry brushing of enamel products takes a toll on them. As my brushes deteriorate, what I do is take a scissor and transform them, some from a general purpose brush with a pointed tip, to a flat brush for blending my rust and weathering products. Other smaller brushes get the same scissor treatment - by shortening them and reshaping the tip - into a detail brush. With these I would dip the bristles in water, then spritz the hairs with a shot of hair spray (from the Dollar Store), while pressing out the water and shaping the tip into a sharp spear - ending up with a brush perfectly suited for painting "chips" on my armored vehicle models. You can buy an expensive set and hope that they last, or extend the life of your brushes in this set, by altering, reshaping, and reusing them.
