Effective Moisturizing Zinc SPF Lip Balm
This is my favorite spf lip protectant. For reference, I have tried the Clinique sun stick, Colorescience spf stick, Colorescience spf lip gloss, Jane Iredale spf lip balm, Aquaphor spf lip balm, & Bert's Bees. What I like about this particular SunBum is: It does what it's supposed to (protect from sunburn); doesn't dry out my lips; goes on smooth/creamy; wisps of hair won't drag it across your face; long-lasting; SPF30 (rather than 15); non-toxic. This does have a white cast since it's a zinc-based product; that's just how it's going to be with zinc sunblock. However, the white cast does seem to mellow out after a little. If the color really bothers you, the product is creamy enough where you could easily apply a bit of lipstick or lip liner on top to give it a color tint. No idea if that affects the spf, but aesthetically it could easily be done. (Would be great if SunBum developed a tinted option. They have a gloss, but glosses suck at a windy beach, etc). Overall, a really solid non-toxic spf product.

Worked well for 4 days spent poolside in 104° temps
I purchased this specifically for the Zinc/ mineral based SPF factor. There are not a lot of great options for a sun BLOCK lip balm. This is about the highest SPF I could find, in a tube/stick applicator. We use 70 and 50 alternatively and apply often for our bodies and face, but we needed an extra layer for the lips. (They really are very delicate tissues) We like the texture, I didn't notice a flavor or odor, so I guess that's good right? I did not see any white cast to it and honestly I would not care if it did, I just want a sun block for my lips while we are poolside. It worked well. A slight tingly feeling to my lips for the first 30 seconds when applying it, but it did not sting or irritate my skin/lips. We went 4 days of poolside lounging and swimming with about 5-6 hours a day at the pool. We were in and out of the shade, in and out of the water, at at very dry desert Nevada 104° sunny location. We reapplied about every 1.5 - 2 hours, or if we felt like we needed it after eating or drinking something. We did not burn nor peel, our lips were soft and great. I will keep using it and will likely purchase again, when needed. It's a good brand. Aside from straight up old fashioned white or colored lifeguard zinc sticks, this is a less "clown like makeup" option.

Great Product
This lip balm was recommended by my surgeon to protect my lip from uv rays. Surprisingly, it does not have that yucky spf taste other lip balms have. It does create a white cast, but I find if I lightly put it on the cast is not prominent, and I am Caribbean with deep tan skin. Very grateful this lip balm does its job!

Protect Your Lips
This chapstick feels great on my lips, nice smooth texture, no unpleasant taste. It definitely protects my lips from the sun. The only downside is that it has a white tint to it on my lips; I wish it were completely sheer.

Hydrates, leaves a slight white film, not travel friendly
I wear lip balm regularly. As a matter of fact, I always have some with me. Tubes are placed in various areas around my house, I have one in my car, in my backpack and a couple tubes at work. I'm seriously never without it so I kind of consider myself a lip balm expert. The only thing most of the ones I use don't have is SPF. Since I live in an area that is fairly sunny year round, you think I'd be better about that. Well, I'm looking to change that. I saw this Sun Bum SPF 30 Mineral Sunscreen Lip Balm and read some of the reviews. They seemed overwhelmingly positive. I'm familiar with the brand and since it was covered under my HRA, decided to try this one out along with a few others. It glides on easily and moisturizes well, but it left a slight white film on my lips. Not my favorite but it did fade. It's unscented and doesn't have any flavor, which is good. I loathe lip balms with any type of taste to them. Good or bad. It has clean ingredients and offers great sun protection but it doesn't withstand heat itself. If you like to carry one in your pocket, backpack or keep in your car, it will melt. I do like this lip balm but it has some negatives, as stated above. It made my lips feel soft and hydrated but it's not travel friendly. I wouldn't discourage buying it, but if you want a balm to carry around with you, I'd be hesitant to recommend it.

Really works and it's safe.
I am a flats fisherman – this stuff really works, it's smooth, flavorless, reef-safe, and safe to lick. Reapply as often as you remember to.

Worth it
I’m a poc and I have sensitive lips that darken on sun exposure which always stresses me out. I tried to use regular sunscreen and other lip balms with spf and they didn’t work as a last resort I tried this and it’s been a god send. I never leave the house without it! My lips no longer darken in sun exposure

Worthless
This item came damaged and unusable. The stick won't come up. And the worst part is it cannot be returned or replaced. Money lost. Very disappointed. If you value your money buy products that have a return/replace option.
