I’ve been building PCs for over a decade, and this is easily one of the most impressive power supplies I’ve used to date. I picked up the CORSAIR RM850e (2025 revision) as part of a rebuild centered around an Intel i9-12900KS and RTX 3090, and I’ve been nothing but impressed so far. The fully modular design is a huge plus, especially for managing cables in a tight mid-tower. Installation & Cabling: Installation was simple, and everything fit snugly. I’m using the standard 3x 8-pin for the 3090, but it’s nice knowing the 12V-2x6 cable is included in case I upgrade to a future PCIe 5.1 card later on. No loose connectors, no weird bends required — and unlike some modular PSUs I’ve dealt with, the ports on the unit are clearly labeled and firmly seated. Performance & Stability: Despite powering a very power-hungry setup, this PSU hasn’t flinched once. The 12900KS, even under boost/load, can be a voltage-hungry CPU, especially paired with the 3090 — but even during max load stress testing (Cinebench + Heaven benchmark running together), rails stayed completely stable, no crashes or brownouts, and no sign of power-related instability. Noise & Efficiency: Corsair nailed the noise levels. During idle and light gaming, the fan doesn't even spin up. Even when it does under load, it’s so quiet it fades into the background of my other case fans. My case has good airflow, but the fan curve on this PSU is genuinely impressive. It’s also Cybenetics Gold rated, and the system draws power very efficiently — I've been monitoring wattage via a smart plug, and it lines up well with published benchmarks for power efficiency. Extras & Future-Proofing: ATX 3.1 & PCIe 5.1 ready 105°C-rated Japanese capacitors (a must for long-term reliability) Modern Standby support works perfectly — fast wake times, zero sleep issues in Windows 11 Final Thoughts: For anyone running a high-end system like mine — especially with power-hungry components like the i9-12900KS and RTX 3090 — this PSU offers peace of mind. No coil whine, no overheating, no second-guessing whether it’s enough. It’s quiet, efficient, and built with headroom for future GPUs thanks to the included 12V-2x6 cable and compliance with the latest standards. I'm rather fond of this power supply, its quiet, it looks nice but i never look at it haha, it probably wont explode (unlike other company's power supplies...oops) and it's rather cheap for what you get. the cables are nothing special but just spend money at cable mod or something and it's perfect! Or heck if you don't mind the cables like me then just don't spend any extra money.
