It is more like a light coverage, kind of evens out skin tone, not buildable. There is pigment in the product, it seems to activate while you are rubbing, I think it is more of a gimmick than anything, choose the color closest to what you typically buy, if you are light, buy light, I wear nude, beige, natural beige from Revlon typically, I bought medium. I think I could have also used light medium, maybe.

why does my tube say "A large spectre" on it? Had to laugh when a reviewer said it made her look like Caspar the friendly ghost.

The reviewer is right. This Almay Skintone is like plaster on a wall. I mix it with another cream. Then it is okay.
