For the price this is 100% perfect
Fantastic knife that is super sharp. The orange handle will help spot it in the grass if you put it down but this being as sharp as it is you wouldn't want to lose it. Comes with a good sheath that seems super durable. For the price im going to be getting another one as I think these are useful to have in your camping gear.

Get it !
Bought this as a second knife for food preparation only for camping so there is no contamination . This is great quality knife at bargain price . I've attached my DC3 sharpener with a ranger band to the sheath ( good quality sheath too) . Only thing I didn't like it it stains very quick ( with fresh lemon ) but for the price I can live with that . And extremely sharp too. I don't know why would pay extra and get the one with the comfort handles as this one is comfortable enough

Quality product, great price
Solidly made with quality steel blade and sturdy plastic handle, which fits comfortably in the hand. Blade very sharp and is capable of maintaining sharpness - good quality carbon steel. Solid plastic sheath which has nice button attachment, knife snaps in safely and feels secure. Has been used for greenwood carpentry, which I reckon it's perfect for. Not the most beautiful hand- made knife, but a solid, honest, quality product at a very good price.

High quality basic knife - buy one now!
I have been using one of these for several weeks as a work knife in a parcel warehouse. It sits in a side pocket on my work trousers , hanging from a button added by me for the purpose. in spite of the degree of movement it is subjected to, there have been no issues with blade retention at all. I have been mightily impressed with the performance of the knife in all the cutting tasks I have put it to. Generally this is just shrink wrap and cardboard, but it has also been used for making quick and nasty repairs on abs plastic lorry parts (make hole insert cable tie - bosh!) Just prior to writing this I have given it an end of the week sharpen with a fine oil stone and then a strop with a leather belt. I now have a bald patch on my left arm to testify the sort of edge it will take. The handle fits very comfortably in the hand and gives a secure grip. I know many people are critical of the large guard, but I like it very much. I also have the heavy duty version of this which is a fine tool, but for me the standard HVK is the better of the two. Given the very small outlay involved, I would suggest anyone buy both and make their own mind up. The quality of the finish is somewhat basic when compared to a Mora, though for less than half the price of a Companion, I am not disappointed at all. Importantly the steel seems to me at least the equal of that used by Mora and far superior to that of a certain line of black/orange celebrity endorsed knives. To conclude, anyone looking for a no frills work or outdoors knife could spend far more cash on something not nearly as good.

Less than half the price of an identical Mora! Ideal knife for camping, woodcraft, your toolbox, or at home. Buy one!
For the price I paid for this knife (£5.50 delivered), I don't think you could get anything better. Nice thick blade (2.5mm) made of carbon steel (not stainless), with a flourescent orange handle. It glows under black UV light. The handle is a good size, and unless you have butcher's hands, it will fit fine. There is no non-slip coating on this handle, but one is available for a couple of quid more. Most new knives need a bit of work to get them to an edge that I would call sharp. Not this one. Out of the supplied plastic sheath, it sliced through a 64 page catalogue (32 sheets) without snagging or tearing the paper in the slightest. Impressive! The sheath will fit onto a webbing or thin leather belt up to 40mm or a button up to 20mm. Excellent piece of kit all round. If you are planning on keeping it in good condition, remember to oil it lightly after use, as it WILL rust otherwise.

Hultafors craftsman
This knife is brilliant. I like it so much and its so cheap, I really want to get another one for no reason other than as a spare- I had to stop myself from ordering the heavy duty one as well as I have no use for it. This knife is heavy duty in my opinion, as well as sharp and very practical. I have a number of knives which are now redundant! Extremely good value for money sturdy and secure sheath and I consider its worth three times the price! In fact, I'll probably find an excuse to buy the whole Hultafors craftsman range before long! One observation - the handle shape is very comfortable and gives a good grip, but the guard (which is ideal for general use) makes this a bit bulky for finer woodcraft work.

Good for the price
Good general purpose tool Keeps it's edge fairly well. The steel will rust if not oiled. Good for the price.

Best $12 knife I ever bought
Best $12 knife I ever bought. It aint gonna win any beauty contests but as a task knife it works awesome. Its great for camping and fishing. it has a thin profile scandi-grind blade which is great for cleaning and filleting fish and performing routine tasks at the campsite. It has a bright orange handle to make it easy to find if dropped in the brush. The sheath is kinda big and clunky and made of plastic, but the one plus is that it can be connected to the belt without having to remove the belt. The sheath could be better but its a $12 knife so really nothing to complain about. As if the Mora Knives weren't al;ready an outstanding great deal, this line of knives is almost as good and even more affordable.

Gutes Messer

Incredible Value for Performance
Hultafors 380010 HVK Craftsman’s Knife – Incredible Value for Performance The Hultafors 380010 HVK Craftsman’s Knife is an outstanding value for the quality you’re getting. The steel is solid—it offers good corrosion resistance and toughness, making it a great workhorse knife for outdoor and utility tasks. It holds up well to hard use, and compared to similar knives like Mora’s base models, this one is actually more affordable and can take more abuse. Build & Performance This knife is rugged and well-balanced, making it a great tool for work, outdoor use, and general utility. The holster is descent, does the job. What really stands out is the price-to-performance ratio—it’s honestly very hard to beat at this price point. Design & Practicality The handle color is a nice touch, making it easy to spot if dropped in the field. However, for those who prefer a more discreet look, this might not be ideal. That said, this isn’t a tactical knife—it’s designed for practical, hard-working use, and it excels at that. Price & Availability Amazon has great availability and pricing, often with fast delivery and solid deals on this knife. Given the performance you get for the price, it’s a no-brainer for anyone needing a tough, reliable utility knife.
