Arrived quickly and in good condition. Haven't had to really run it much yet but appears it will do the job. (This is what I posted the day I set it up.) Okay, the unit was in perfect condition the day it arrived but it took me a few days to get around to setting up. Take note and register the warranty on it; simply by registering SereneLife gives you an additional 3 months warranty (15 months total.) Setting up the unit itself wasn't difficult at all but I did have to purchase a larger window kit (we have 55" sliding windows in our sunroom.) That was a bit time consuming but that's not the fault of the air conditioner: looking at their window kit, for a standard window you could probably have it setup in 10 minutes. Most of these reviews are about cooling bedrooms or areas of less than 200 square feet. Personally, I can't see how on earth if set up properly this unit wouldn't rock in a room that size. I purchased it for a sunroom that is glass and metal and roughly 275 sq feet. The ceiling is lofted so probably 12' at center. It gets the afternoon sun ALL afternoon and without cooling tops out at 88 - 90 degrees on a 98 degree day. Warm. I set this unit to run at 78 and over time have experimented with leaving the door open to the house, closing the door, having the ceiling fan blowing down and blowing up. This unit consistently keeps the room at 80ish (that's an 8 - 10 degree cooling) and keeps the humidity in the 35 - 45 % range. For that room, it does EXACTLY what I need it to do. I run it about 4 hours each day in the afternoon from 4 - 8. Usually after 7 or so, it gets to 78 and shuts off. So, I got what I paid for: a unit that keeps the room cooler with lower humidity. I never expected it to keep that room at a perfect temperature. I expected it to make it tolerable. So, if you're buying this for a small bedroom, den, etc., it will probably meet all of your expectations. You can set it where the vent cover moves so it helps circulate air better. At any rate, it was far cheaper than investing in a split unit to make a room tolerable 3 - 4 months out of the year.

I had purchased the 12,000 BTU model in the summer of 2020. The unit worked fine that summer and I liked the quiet operation (given its a portable a/c), as well as the swinging vents, the sleek appearance and wide venting hose. It cooled my large bedroom well, even during the several extremely hot days experienced in NY during that summer. The issue I had began this current summer when I began noticing the unit frequently giving the E4 message and then shutting off for a while, after which it would start again several minutes later. This caused my bedroom to become uncomfortably hot at night during the humid warm evenings, until that point when the unit started up again. I understand this is a protective feature to preserve the condenser from freezing over, especially during cooler days, however, this was happening much too frequently during very warm, humid nights. I contacted customer support and established communications with Caleb Breis. From day one, he was responsive, professional and cooperative to a level I have never experienced with any other customer support rep. My original expectation was that Caleb would arrange for an authorized technician to come by and inspect the unit and make the necessary repair/adjustment. However, within a short period of time in which Caleb researched the issue and had internal discussions, he advised me that they would be shipping me a brand new unit as a replacement. I inquired as to the process and cost of returning the old unit and was advised that it would not be necessary. I received my new unit quickly and I'm enjoying it now as I write this review. This is a product and a company that I would definitely recommend and support given my personal experience with Caleb and their support staff. I'm quite impressed with the organization and its product.

I bought this unit to cool a fairly large finished basement space. It's powerful enough to cool the entire space while fighting against a gaming rig, server rack with multiple servers running 24/7, clothes dryer and an oil fired boiler. In my situation, because the only windows in my basement are too small for a traditional window unit, I had to use one of these. It ended up being the most cost effective solution. I asked my local HVAC company that I work with to quote me on having a mini split installed and they quoted me over 4 grand. That would obviously be more efficient in regards to the electricity usage, but at 10 times the cost of this portable unit I couldn't justify it. This ended up being the best solution. After about a year of usage, the compressor on my unit stopped working and it stopped blowing cold air. I contacted customer support and they were very helpful in securing me a new unit and shipping it to me free of charge, even upgrading me to a newer unit in the process. The new unit arrived quickly and in good condition and is doing a great job as usual. So, while portable air conditioners in general are not as efficient as a mini split, they certainly cost a whole lot less and the performance of this unit in particular is very good. The sound is also not that loud. I have a home recording studio in my basement and while I turn it off for more sensitive recordings I don't have to if I'm just live streaming a jam session or something. It's not any more loud than other window units I've had in the past. So, if you've got a space that's difficult to cool like an attic or basement with small windows or if you live in a rented space and aren't allowed to install a window unit, this is a fantastic option. If it can cool my space with all that equipment running, it won't even break a sweat cooling your average bedroom or office.

I spent months reading reviews on portable ACs before finally hitting the purchase button. This unit was neck and neck with another unit. There is NO unit out there with five-star reviews so it just came down to what I thought was the best and paying attention to consistencies in other reviews. The unit arrived safe and sound and was extremely easy to install. Almost too easy. I do recommend getting window strips to help seal around where the hose goes out the window. My apartment is pretty small - 630 sq. ft. and becomes a SAUNA due to poor insulation and no protection from the sun. When it is 70 outside, it's 85 inside. I've been wanting to get something to help cool it down, especially after a Summer with a few 90-degree days that had it 100 inside. Another helpful piece of info is that I'm in the pacific northwest. We don't get the prolonged heat waves that other areas of the country do. We have moderate humidity (sometimes severe) and lately, we've been having some week-long or longer heat waves. Normal Summers are just a few days of heat and then we get a cool off. We've had a few 80 degree days here already so I was excited to put this unit to the test and I have been pleasantly pleased! I can feel the cool air right away when I turn it on and while it doesn't get my apartment down below 80, it feels GREAT! I can actually sit comfortably and not feel like I'm sweating just blinking my eyes. The trick is to get it turned on right away in the morning while my apartment is still cool. I have a ceiling fan in the same room which really helps circulate the cool air. I put a fan in the doorway of my bedroom to pull the cool air into it as well and it totally works. So thankful for this unit! My heat box has now turned into a comfortable apartment. A couple of other things to note: Some of the reviews mentioned the water drainage and how it was a lot. I have not noticed that at all with mine but I'm pretty sure this is related to the humidity. That would be something to consider for you. Since I don't live in a place with ridiculous humidity 24/7 the water drainage has been very minimal. Another thing I seemed to recall reading about was the noise level. Honestly, I have NEVER lived somewhere with a quiet AC unit. Unless it's central air, those units are noisy! This unit startled me a couple of times when it would come on but now that I recognize the sound it doesn't bother me at all. As far as electricity - It has not done anything significant to my electric bill. Of course, I don't leave it running 24/7. And, thankfully, as mentioned before, the heat waves around here aren't too prolonged. All in all, I am very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a portable AC unit or at least some type of AC that is more affordable than the alternative.

So, I bought the 12,000 unit, and just placed an order for a 2nd. I feel the first few uses, it got the bedroom very cool, the lowest setting is 60 degrees. Now, it's only "cooling" the bedroom, and not as icy as it once was. Hmm. I'm not sure, so I just ordered another and do not want to waste such a huge amount of money (the other is for the extra bedroom or dining room area). I tested this in our bedroom (ours is smallish, works well), then the small dining room and it worked well with our ceiling fan to cool kitchen/dining off and feel some blowing into living room as well. I tried it by the front door/living room, our living room is huge, so I didn't notice a huge cooling difference, I would think that the living room would need 2. The good: -Very Portable, I can just wheel room to room (has deep handles) so easily! -Set up, was EASY, simple and quick (even getting out of the box). -At first works amazing -I haven't experienced any leaking, but I don't turn it on "dry", I turn it on "cooling". -The hose is LONG -Window piece was easy to fit and put in, quickly and works pretty good, with minimal gaps. -comes with hose/window kit -Casters/roll super easy -feels sturdy -Cools to 60 degrees (other ones we bought go down to 65 degrees only). -It tells you how "warm" or the temp of room at current (when turned off) -remote control is great. It has 3 different fan speeds, swinging of the fan blades, and you can set cooling level, also dehumidifies (I have not used this yet!) or you can use as just a fan. -You can keep in window at all times with a dowel, or it comes out easily if you need to close window (absolutely 100x easier than a window unit in my opinion). Is it cooler than a window unit? Jury's out. -Energy saver, so hasn't blown any circuits or fuses (I'll update when I get my power bill). The Bad: -The "swing" feature on mine where the flaps rotate the air (you can turn off) SQUEAK LOUDLY, annoying and so I turn it "off". -It is LOUD like a loud fan -It is big, like bigger than a night stand, like half size of a dresser -Jury is out on if it cools well enough after first couple weeks??? -The BIG problem is the back where the hose attaches, no matter what I do HEAT ESCAPES, the hose is warm/hot, and the heat ALSO escapes at the end by the window. I will need to buy pipe insulation and tape it on I think to remedy it. The hose is long and great, but it's cheap and may rip easily, And why does heat escape out the back no matter what, it's ANNOYING. And that heats up the room, if I could solve this issue (I'll update when I try thermal wrap), and see if it helps. Putting a screen in the window keeps bugs out, but I feel the screen "out" of the window makes the heat go out better/cooling room off better/but small bugs can get in. -The window piece is flimsy but fits in my bedroom window it does not however fit in my small dining room windows, I wish the size was more VERSITIALE. The piece that hooks to the window part falls off a lot/heat escapes. -Wish/needs to come with thermal wrap for hose. -They REALLY need to have added a "screen" on the end of the hose for hanging out windows, without window screens, otherwise bugs could just crawl right up it. Update: 1 doesn't work. I only used a few months last summer. Tried cleaning filters, turning on and off, it's huge and bow I got to dump it. Waste of over 400$ when I've had window units last 8 years or more. I tried everything and it only blows fan room temperature air no air condoned air.

So quiet. Love it. The last AC I had was super loud, especially compared to this one. I've only used it for a couple of days so far, but so far I'm loving it. If things should change I will write an update. Honestly, I have to admit I had my son figure it out for me and he installed it. I guess one thing that I truly dislike, is that the window panel is not long enough or tall enough, even fully extended. I'd say about 10 inches short. I had to use, well for now anyways, a piece of cardboard and tape to at least cover the open gap. My window doesn't open up and down. It opens from right to left, and it's large. That is the only negative thing I can say so far. Like I said, my son set it all up, so far all I've done is turn it on and off. But I plan on reading the instructions booklet this weekend. It does come with a remote control. I mean the housing of any AC as far as I have seen are plastic, but given that, it does have a sleek, nice look to it. Other than the quietness, another thing I love are the shutters. The flaps that open when you turn the AC on and close when you turn it off. Pretty fancy right there. But, it also has a "wave" option, and the shutter, the flapers go up and down almost like a fan sort of speak, you can really feel the cold air "circulating". Pretty fancy. I live in a apartment that has the set up of a townhouse. Upstairs and downstairs. So far the unit I have is in the living room. It really does cool the room actually rather quickly. It's not like you get frost bite from the coolness (some days I wish these AC's would give the option for a "almost frost bite setting" but it really really does cool the space nicely. And again I haven't read the booklet for all the settings and temperature adjustment possibilities, so we shall see. My previous AC took a lot longer to cool the space. So basically so far I am happily giving 5 stars. Unit looks decent. Is very quiet. Has a "wave" option. Does have pretty good and fast cooling power. I will have to wait and see what the future holds. The AC unit I had before I had to place a circulating fan in front of it to actually distribute the cool air. I mean I could, to intensify the cooling distribution, but I don't have to, I can feel the cold air going all over without a fan in front of it. I would recommend to purchase this item. I want to wait a little longer and see if all stays good or gets even better. Then I will purchase a second unit for my upstairs. Of course I wish and maybe get lucky and get the second unit at a cheaper price. Wishful thinking.

The 12k BTU works very well. The first one I ordered began to leak water on the floor. I was eventually able to take it apart and found that inner water tray had cracked. The box was damaged on arrival so I presume it most likely happened during shipping. The company sent me a new unit, which worked great with no problems. This unit cooled a large area of my single family home while the central air was out. * If you have humidity in your area, this unit will create a lot of water. In Maryland, I'd get about 4 gallons of water every 9 hours or so. If I forgot to check the drainage bucket at least two times per day, it would overflow. The manual or description says something about how the unit is designed to evaporate water out the exhaust tube to the outside so you don't get much water drainage. However, in my experience, you definitely need a large bucket to catch the water and you need to empty it frequently. The alternative would be to (A) use a longer tube that can be run at a downward slope out the door or window or (B) set the unit in a bathtub or over a floor drain so the water can just run down the drain. You will need to have a window nearby for the hot air tube. I did the bathtub method for a while and that worked great. *Wrap the hot air tube in insulation or a sheet, blanket, or towels to keep it from dissipating some of its heat back into your room. This makes a big difference in how much cooling you can achieve. *If you need to cool a larger area, such as multiple rooms, you can use a regular fan to spread the conditioned air around. For instance, put the AC unit in Room 1, venting out the window. At the doorway into Room 1, place a regular floor fan blowing into the next room. *Make sure the water drainage tube is running at a downward angle so the water doesn't backup and overflow from within the machine. With the machine sitting on the floor, I could not fit a 5 gallon bucket under the tube, so I used a 3 or 4 gallon bucket, which sat just below the level at which the tube exits the AC unit. If you have much humidity and use a small bucket, you are almost guaranteed to have your bucket overflow and create a big mess. If you don't have a bucket at least 3 gallons, it is worth it to get one. *After experiencing a couple of drainage bucket overflows when it was not in the dry bathtub, I set the AC unit and drainage bucket on a rubber/plastic boot tray that contained any overflowing water. This worked well. You could also use a water heater drain pain. *If you're struggling to keep your place cool, try to avoid cooking inside. It adds a significant amount of heat to the house. Instead, choose recipes that don't require any/much cooking, grill outside, or cook in the crockpot and leave it plugged in outside or in the garage. *Thermal film on windows prevents about 50% of the sun's heat from coming in your windows. If you use much air conditioning in your area, doing this on the sun-facing windows of your house would likely make pay you back quickly in both comfort and financial savings.

Bought this unit after my rollicool 14K unit was leaking water on arrival to replace it. Got 12K but if anything it blow cooler than that one. So far it is keeping up with both my rooms and I just purchased a second one. One is in my bedroom and it keep it nice and cool even during the mid day hours. We live in a top floor apt of a house so with the recent heat, the sun radiates heat through the roof directly to us. The only drawback of this unit is the noise and fan. Mainly it is loud no matter what setting the fan speed is at, so really the noise comes from the compressor. I have to say though that it is not unbearable because I fall asleep with it on no problem but definitely a downside, especially silly considering that the first picture has a thing that says sleep mode. I’m willing to overlook that as I am used to loud air purifiers going on my bedroom. To follow that up and what I cannot overlook is the fan and thermostat. Usually when an AC reaches temperature it turns the compressor off and the fan continues to blow, sadly this unit keeps the fan on for about a minute and then shuts off entirely... and just like that silence. Now here is where the thermostat factors in, I believe it is located on the rear of the unit somewhere, and since A, the unit only blows forward usually behind the unit it is hotter and B, the hot exhaust pipe is located directly behind the unit, the AC turns back on a minute later because the temperature reading is now higher from the radiating heat. Same goes for the temperature reading, my thermometer says 72 but the AC is going and is set to 76 at night. As I do with these AC units I will be covering the exhaust pipe with duct insulation and hopefully this helps negate this effect to some extent. Besides that it blows cold and doesn’t leak, two things that are a must for me since the last AC I had for 2 days and it couldn’t get either right. If you need a quieter option, I would look otherwise. Other than that one thing this AC rocks off for me is the ability to drain the water tank actively. Some units do not have this option and need to be drained when they are full. I however have condensate pumps set up by each window where I have a unit and it collects the water and pumps it out by itself automatically. When I was looking for a new AC unit I had to read each manual to make sure it can be left open to drain and still operate. This one does that in case you need that kind of option as well. I’m not sure about this evaporative water thing, mine has a steady stream of water coming out of it at all times, it might be because I am on the top floor but I cannot attest to that claim that it almost never needs to be emptied.

I’ve been using this AC for a week now, and it’s honestly exceeded my expectations. My living room and open kitchen are around 550 sq. ft., and it cools the space much faster than my older single-hose portable AC ever did. The dual hose design is the biggest improvement. Instead of pulling hot air back into the room, it cools much more efficiently and doesn’t have to run constantly. The inverter compressor is another huge plus. It ramps up and down instead of turning on and off all the time, so the temperature stays more consistent and the unit is quieter than I expected. Setup took about 20 mins with the included window kit. The WiFi app is easy to control and it’s nice being able to turn the AC on before getting home. And the heater function is a nice bonus that I will probably using it in winter.

Este producto ha estado trabajando optimamente. La instalacion fue rapida. No necesite de servicios externos. No fue dificil, la caja traia todo lo necesario. Entro en operacion inmediatamente, funcionando muy bien. Lleva algunas semanas en operacion constante y hasta el momento opera al 100%. Solo observar muy bien la ventana donde se colocara el tubo de expulsion del aire caliente que es realmente muy caliente y fuerte, de tal manera que se adapte bien para que quepa y ajuste correctamente con el panel que trae la caja, ya que el tubo tiene correctamente cierto flexibilidad que realmente permite cierto movimiento del enfriador, lo cual es positivo para poder dirigir el aire frio a donde estemos sentados. En conclusion, totalmente recomendable.

This is my second summer in Toronto using this air conditioner. The SereneLife Portable Air Conditioner 12,000 BTU has been a life saver. Summer in Toronto is unbearable and this air conditioner helped keep my apartment’s temperature very pleasant. It’s compact, looks nice, relatively quiet, and the front ventilation is very convenient. The remote control and on-panel controls work well, and there is no need to empty water in cooling mode. Very efficient and reliable so far.

I’ve been very happy with this portable AC. It cools my room quickly, and the dual-hose design seems to make a noticeable difference compared to other portable units I’ve used. The inverter technology keeps it relatively quiet, and I like being able to control it with both the remote and the app. Installation was straightforward with the included window kit, and everything worked right out of the box. It’s powerful enough to keep my space comfortable even on hot days. Overall, it’s an excellent portable air conditioner and well worth the purchase.
