Not at all as pictured or described. I paid this inflated price because the picture looks like a set I could collect & that's what the description at time of purchase & time of writing said. It was a 21st birthday present for someone who's had a tough life & hasn't got any blood relatives so I really wanted to get him something as special as possible. I'm disabled & housebound so it's really hard for me to be able to afford anything & I couldn't nip out to get a replacement. I was so disappointed they were tatty 2nd hand, none in the covers as pictured but from 3 different sets so they don't even look like a set on the bookshelf, the pages are old & discoloured to different ages & colours, I couldn't send the 1st 2 in the set because the front cover has a fold & the spine is extremely creased so no good as a gift. Only the dispatch note confesses you are getting tatty mismatched books. I could have assembled these 2nd hand myself for a lot less money

I’m sure the books are brilliant as all Sharpe, however they are not sent as a matching set. They are just mismatched books wrapped in cellophane. One of the books included wasn’t even Sharpe. Very poor from the seller.

Advertised as a collection set and sent as individual books with varying designs, then wrapped in sellophane. Very disappointed.

If you enjoy the Horatio Hornblower series then you will also love it's counterpart The Sharpe Series.

What can you say about Sharpy except what a legendary character. Cornwell takes you wonderfully into the Peninsular Wars, setting the scenes with such depth and realism you can almost smell the cannon-smoke. These are fantastic stories, full of rivalry and bravery. Before you know it, you'll have finished one book and be reaching for the next.

The Sharpe series books are a great read, keeps you interested all the way in each chapter.
