Great, simple rice cooker with good capacity.
This has worked great for several years for me. I do mostly white rice, not the dual cooking with veggies, but for white and brown rice, it's been perfect. Top is easy to clean if you rinse rice or use Jasmine. With basmati unrinsed it can be very starchy, and steam will bubble on top a bit, requiring a wipe up. Rice still comes out great. But rinsing mostly makes cleanup easy and rice fluffy.

Cooking rice has never been easier!
OH MY! I have never been a gifted person who could cook rice that would come out consistently good. Sometimes it would be great, but most of the time my rice was mushy or not cooked all the way! One of my Korean friends suggested--NO--she told me she would never make rice in anything other than a Tiger Rice Cooker! Best advice I have ever taken! This little unit makes cooking rice so easy and effortless. My rice is consistently good all the time. Well, when I first got it I used warm water to rinse the rice and to put in the cooking pot--Do Not Do that! That was the only time I made bad rice in this Tiger Rice Cooker. It came out mushy, like oatmeal. Yuck! There are a ton of videos on YouTube that will take you through the steps of cooking in this wonderful rice cooker, if you can't understand the directions. The controls are easy to use and the "Keep Warm" feature is a life saver! Do not fear using the "Keep Warm" feature, I have never burned my rice--ever! The only draw back, is not really knowing how long I have left on the cook time, as there is no timer visible just a ready button that lights up. That mainly comes from my family being impatient and ready for dinner. This is not a deal breaker, I just start the rice first and then cook dinner. The cooker itself is durable. The cooking pot is scratch resistant but have never--ever used a metal spoon or anything with it. Cleaning is super easy, wipe down with a damp cloth and put it away. Cooking rice has never been easier! The Tiger Rice Cooker is so easy and flawless to use, my 26 year old single son asked for one so that he can cook his own rice at home! Best kitchen appliance purchase ever!

steamer and rice cooker work well, easy to use, good value.
Steamer works very well. The first day, we cooked white rice and steamed purple carrots. Carrots stayed purple and rice stayed white. Brown rice takes a long time, so plan ahead. We cooked a bit of brown rice and it took about 45 minutes. It cooked it very well, but you can't be in a rush. The pan and steamer both clean up very easily. We clean them both by hand. The lid doesn't come off, so cleaning that is a bit of a pain. Our old rice cooker (which died, hence this replacement), had a regular lid that was easy to clean. This one, I have to wipe off the lid and rinse it off, and it's awkward since I can't just run the lid under the sink, since it's part of the cooker. Anyway, that aside, I like this very much. It takes up more kitchen counter real estate than our old rice cooker, but I knew that when I ordered it. For our family of 4, the size of this rice cooker is great. It makes more than enough for us and could easily make enough rice for 8 to 10 people. I don't use the measuring cup, but my Lola's finger-measuring method, and the rice comes out very nicely cooked, not too dry and not too wet. One thing - relatively minor - when you press the button to open the lid, the lid snaps up quickly. So, it seems best to have your other hand available to slow down the lid as it swings up. I could see the snapping lid being a weak link and eventually breaking if it snaps up too many times. If you want a very good rice cooker that has a few more bells and whistles than the average rice cooker (steamer, slow cooker, etc.), and is reasonably priced, this one should be on your list.

It does everything for you!
If you work and hardly have time or just want to enjoy japanese rice. The tiger is authentic japanese rice cooker and it makes very good rice and automatically goes on to warm mode, after cooking the rice, and the warm mode stays for 24 hours if you are extremely busy. I use this to cook and make onigiri, my love for japanese food and cuisine is just above and beyond. I never had an authentic japanese rice cooker but when i made my research it kills zujirushi very fast and has more tech and ease of use. You can do smoke salmon and even other type of foods is just amazing what i love is that it saves you energy and money and time! Amazing for japanese curry, onigiri, sushi, sushi cone, cooking salmon, veggies, doing other types as well not just japanese rice but, as well for couscous and other grains which are very healthy for every day food. I love my rice cooker and it gives perfection and amazing taste to your food! Strongly recommend if you are an otaku or into japanese cuisine or trying to learn it more.

YES a rice cooker is worth it
I managed to find one on here for $50 due to damaged packaging but honestly I would've paid full price if I had known how good rice can taste. I eat a lot of rice but i've been using my pressure cooker to cook it and before that I just used the stovetop and neither has ever tasted as fluffy, soft, or smooth as the rice I just had. It was also incredibly quick. In the picture i'm using Jasmine rice and had already taken some out for my lunch, 2 cups were ready in just about 20 minutes. My pressure cooker took 30 mins alone to get to the right pressure then about another 15 minutes to actually cook and it always stuck to the bottom of the bowl and would be crunchy in some areas despite using exact measurements for water/rice ratio that was written on a little sheet that came with the product. This rice cooker was super easy to clean and works immediately when you press the button, no rice stuck to the bowl! So yeah, if you eat a lot of rice, a rice cooker is definitely worth it, they really perfected the technology over at Tiger.

A Nice and Simple Machine for a Great Price- Would Buy Again
This does exactly what you expect and need from a rice cooker without all the bells and whistles of the more expensive models, making it super easy to use. It cooks rice perfectly every time, only takes about 20 minutes, and stays nice and warm without causing the rice on the bottom to become sticky. The steamer basket works great and really does keep the rice from tasting of the food you put in it. I've done onions, garlic, and peppers in it with the rice, and none of the flavors transferred which is great when you want to use the rice for more than one meal. The capacity is perfect, easily serving a family gathering while still allowing you to make a small enough portion for one without overwhelming you with leftovers. Its easy to clean with a solid non-stick interior. I haven't had it long enough to speak to its long term durability, but after the first month of regular use it still looks and functions like day 1. There are a couple of things that could be better with this unit, but nothing that bothers me at this price point. There is no sound or timer to indicate that cooking has completed or how long it has left, only a change in the indicator lights when it finishes cooking and when the keep warm function turns off. And the only other thing is that it is too light weight for the strength with which the top opens when you push the button, meaning if the cooker is nearing empty the machine rocks back when you open it. I just remember to catch it before the lid opens completely to kill the momentum when I know its going to rock.

reliable and efficient rice cooker
I've been using the TIGER JBV-A10U 5.5-Cup (Uncooked) Micom Rice Cooker with Food Steamer Basket for almost 3 years now, and it has been an excellent addition to my kitchen. One of the standout features is the Syncro-cooking function with the "tacook" cooking plate. This innovative design allows me to cook rice and a main dish simultaneously without the flavors mixing, which is incredibly convenient for preparing balanced meals quickly. The rice cooker offers four versatile cooking menu settings: Synchro-Cooking, Plain Rice, Brown Rice, and Slow Cook/Steam. Each setting is straightforward to use and delivers perfect results every time. Whether I’m making fluffy white rice, nutritious brown rice, or using the slow cook option for soups and stews, this appliance handles it all with ease. Cleaning up is a breeze thanks to the easy-to-clean non-stick coating on the inner pan. This feature significantly reduces the time and effort needed for maintenance, allowing me to enjoy my meals without worrying about a lengthy cleanup process afterward. Overall, the TIGER JBV-A10U is a reliable and efficient rice cooker that simplifies meal preparation and consistently produces high-quality results. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a versatile and user-friendly rice cooker.

Gran Producto
Me encanta.

Looks cool and is super easy to use
Had to replace my gf's (Japanese) Hitachi with this similar looking one. All in all, I'm happy with the purchase. One thing I do prefer from the Hitachi was that it had measuring options for White Rice, Jasmin, Brown, and Porridge. This one just has Plain and Brown... which raises the question of what type is Basmati, what is Okome, etc. Word of caution, it uses a type A plug, not the British type G, but I was already aware of it.

I recently added the Tiger JBV-A18U-W 10 Cup Micom Rice Cooker to my kitchen, and it has quickly become an indispensable part of my daily cooking routine. This is not just a rice cooker, it's a versatile kitchen companion. The 10-cup capacity is perfect for both small and large meals. Whether I'm cooking for myself or hosting a dinner party, this rice cooker delivers perfectly cooked rice every time. The Micom technology ensures consistent results, taking the guesswork out of cooking rice. One of the standout features of this rice cooker is its Food Steamer. It's a convenient way to steam vegetables, fish, and more while the rice cooks below. It's a time-saver and helps to preserve the nutrients in the food. The Slow Cooker function is another feature that I love. It's perfect for making soups, stews, and other slow-cooked dishes. The convenience of having a rice cooker and slow cooker in one appliance is a huge plus. The white color of the rice cooker gives it a clean, modern look that fits well with my kitchen decor. Despite its multiple functions, the design is compact and doesn't take up much space on my countertop. The Tiger JBV-A18U-W 10 Cup Micom Rice Cooker is a fantastic investment for anyone who values convenience and versatility in their kitchen appliances. It's user-friendly, efficient, and delivers delicious results every time. Highly recommended!
