When I traded in my older SUV for a new one, I swore that I was going to do what I had to do to protect the front end from our 10 hour trips from Georgia to Florida. I tried other methods including the paint on liquid, and while it helped somewhat with bugs, it did not do much for rock chips and definitely did not hold up in the rain. It's been almost a year and I am still finding bits of the film that need to be removed. I also went the route of using blue tape, which when covered with a layer of duct tape, held up well, but took forever and looked very overkill for a family SUV. Luckily I found Track Armour. Short story is that it held up great and fully protected my hood and bumper from anything the road threw at it!! Things that mattered to me: - Protects from not only bugs but also rock chips - to avoid the sandblasted look on your bumper - Held up through insane rainstorms - other products peeled off after some water got under edges - Removed easily essentially in one big piece - Travels easily and can be reapplied before return trip - no tools, no spilling One note - if you give this a try, and I highly recommend you do, don't be hard on yourself if it does not look great. While it is clear, and is easy to apply, it is not easy to make it look like nothing is there. Expect it to look like you put packing tape on the front of your car, suv or truck. Just know that the visual sacrifice is more than worth it to arrive with your front end as clean and blemish free as it was when you started your trip.

Finally had the chance to use this proper on a 5 day road trip. And I can say, Track Armour, TAKE MY FREAKING MONEY!!!!!! 😍😍 The product worked exactly as advertised if not better! While us poors can't afford PPF or in the case of me, I wanna put in the labor of love and hand wax my cars, Track Armour was the perfect temporary PPF solution. From my trip from Louisville to Virginia Beach the tape performed flawlessly and kinda surprised me how much sandblasting highways have!(blue tape caught and some fell into the crevices i left during some overlapping placements) It protected my paint through construction zones as pebbles were being fling (marks were on the tape, but no damage underneath). I've left the tape on during my 5 day trip and it came of smoothly with no residue and that was in 100+ weather! The blue tape you see was my anchor for the edges. Why? Because I didn't lay it as flat as I should and being how weak the adhesive are, it was my security to prevent wind rip up on the highway, it worked. Honestly, this is the best solution to paint protection if PPF is out of the question and for me, PPF was 6K. Or spend just 50 bucks whenever I need it. Easy choice for me. Things to note 1. 4mm thickness is good, and if you want thicker, you can stack them. 2. Definitely work in small sections and really use the provided felt lined squeegee to ensure it lays flat with no crease or air bubbles. The adhesive is strong enough to resist highway speeds, but any edges is enough for the wind to pull it off (aerodynamics truly at play here - if it's flat, the wind will help keep it flat, if it can catch anything, it'll eventually pull it off) Hence for me, I didn't follow this because it was dark so I just anchored the edges with blue tape. (for the pictures, daytime was the initial. Nighttime was upon return home - additional blue tapes were laid because the old blue tape was weakening due to a huge thunderstorm in VB - Again, the armour tape itself was not impacted by rain)

I track regularly and have 2 cars I take to the track, my 2006 BMW Z4 M Coupe, and my 2017 Corvette Grand Sport. Long before that, I used to be the guy that spend an hour meticulously taping up the front end of the car, then covering it up again with a removable Colgan bra. Eventually I've come to accept chips and tire marks as a fact of life with driving a high performance car on track, and especially if you intend to take it to a high speed, high bank track like Auto Club Speedway where if you get stuck behind a car at the right time through the banking portion of the track, you have no choice but to get peppered up front. Over time, the front end of the Z4 M Coupe look like it had been sand blasted. About 3 years ago I chose to have the bumper removed and repainted. Even then, some of the deeper impacts still shows up. Eventually I will have the bumper stripped, sanded smooth, then repainted, but that's a ton of work. With the C7 Corvette Grand Sport, I decided to give this TrackArmour product a try. The application is actually relatively easy and straight forward. Certainly much easier than painstakingly applying strips of painters tape only to have it look like you're at the track for the first time with your "precious". From about 20' away it's barely noticeable on a white car. I'm sure on a darker color car, all the bubbles and creases would trap light in just the right way to make it a lot more noticeable. But hey, I'm not really all that concerned with the look while on track anyway. It's very low tack, almost like a cross between low tack vinyl sticker and, dare I say it...static cling. Even during application it is very easy to peel off and reposition, which is a big plus. However, it tears easily and does not stretch like typical vinyl or clear film, so be careful trying to pull and stretch. Also, it sticks well to clean painted surfaces, but it does not stick well to itself. After a session of 140+mph into the banks of Auto Club Speedway, some sections that overlap started to peel back. About 2 sessions in, roughly 15% of the application show signs of lifting on track. In a way though, it's not bad. Especially if you overlap certain areas. At the end of the day, the high impact area of the front bumper stayed relatively clean, even though the product look like it's been through hell. The bumper and hood areas that were covered, a simple peel took all the tire marks off. And after some light detailing the car looks as good as new, except areas that weren't covered by the TrackArmour product has some pin-hole sized mark in the clear coat from debris impacting the surface. Next time I've got to be sure to apply the product on areas like the mirror and A pillar. My garage mate suggested products like Xpel clear bra, but for the cost of an Xpel application you can buy 100 rolls of this. That's enough for 200 track days, 800 track sessions. I don't think any clear bra applications can last that long through that much blasting. This product works as advertised for tracks that you KNOW you will get a heavy dose of track rubbers and small rocks being kicked up by the car in front of you as you follow through a high speed sweeper, as a non-permanent solution, and its easy to apply and easier to take off.

I've been looking at a clear bra but seeing how I regularly track my car , I didn't want to pay the 500$ just to get it chewed up in less than a year. So found this and it works amazing , exactly what I neeeded it to do. Protect the paint in my 2018 Camaro and hit the track hard while having the peace of mind that my front end isn't getting destroyed. The adhesive is strong enough to not fall off but not strong enough to peel off any factory stickers or badges and removing is easy . I also use on my rocker panels and quarter panels as well. Im happy and my paint is still looking great and one of my favorite things is that it's nearly invincible when taking professional photos on the track 😁 I'll include a pic

Put this on our X5M Comp driving it to Texas for ppf install. It was on for 4 days. Upon pulling it off it left a clear straight line damage to the clear coat, not sure how how can that be, and what exactly caused the damage, but we tried to wet sound and compound it off, got a little better, but you still see a clear crease where the line was, almost like the clear coat creased up somehow. Do not buy this

I purchased this to protect the front end of a new Tesla during a road trip, prior to PPF protection. The tape went on easily, though with curved surfaces it's hard to get it to lie flat. Very happy with the protection it provided. I had it on for less than 24 hours, and there was some rain, temps in the 40s and 50s. The next day when I removed it, there was extensive adhesive residue left on the car, which was kind of like rubber cement. I used some Goo Gone, tried using a heat gun to warm it up, nothing worked to get the tape off with the sticky stuff. Adhesive seems to give up on the tape and just stick to the car. It took a long time to get it cleanly and safely off the new paint. There was also some white residue where it got wet as other buyers mentioned, but this was white paint, and that discoloration seemed to come at the end of the process. Finally, I took it to my detailer. He said that his specialty solvents worked, but the adhesive would gum up again very quickly. So it was quite time consuming for him as well, but he was able to get it all off. I'm happy with the protection it provided, but I'm not sure I would use it again.

Great product. It’s temporary paint protection for your car while on a race track which can have lots of little bits of rubber or gravel hitting your car. I bought a competing item that was pre-perforation and it did not adhere very well and came off when I was on the track. Used this yesterday & worked great!

I decided to use Track Armour to protect my pride and joy on a 700 mile road trip from New Orleans to Upstate SC and back. This is a great option for anyone who can't afford to pay for a clear bra installation and hates the look of a black car bra. As for protection, there were several spots where it was obvious that road debris had hit the armour, and a large rock had hit so hard that it punctured it, but it cushioned the impact enough that the paint was unharmed! For adhesion, I believe it is as good as you can expect from a clear vinyl that is similar in feel and thickness to clear packing tape. By the end of the trip, it was starting to come up slightly around edges and sharper body corners, but overall it held up very well from 11 hours of 70mph highway speeds. The only thing I can see being a possible issue is that it doesn't seem like it will hold up well in the rain, but I haven't had to test that. I will definitely use Track Armour for future road trips and track days which I do occasionally and always had to use blue tape in the past. I've already recommended it to others!

This stuff is awesome! I was pondering whether to get my front bumper wrapped to prevent stone chips on a Switzerland road trip. Cost of a full bumper wrap was £800 and required professional removal also at cost. This temporary protection tape is easy to apply and whilst visible (if you look closely) does a great job of protecting the vulnerable areas on your bumper and wing mirrors. I did 2000 miles and not a single stone chip. It also removes without leaving any marks. Recommended!

Went on easy came off without affecting decals on the car I’ll buy it again

I can't tell what this Track Armour tape hates more: cold weather, rainy events, me, itself, or, from reading earlier reviews, it might just intensely dislike Porsches. I read the instructions and painstakingly applied the film on the last non-rainy day before a track event, drove to the event (in the rain), did track stuff for a couple of days (in the rain), drove home (in the rain), and then tried to remove the film (as the rain stopped, hilariously). The film was difficult to apply, as it comes off the roll without a backing paper or anything, so you have to manage the roll with one hand, guide the tape on with two hands, smooth it down with one more hand, and cut it with yet another hand, which is a few more hands than I currently have on my body. I might rate it one star higher if I was an octopus. The film comes off the roll with a very light tack, so to the touch it feels very lightly glued, like a roll of vinyl film and a stack of yellow Post-It notes had had a love child that likes auto racing. The film stuck poorly to itself, so some of it was flapping around after getting rained on for a while; eventually, I just cut any overlapping parts off in the pits because the flapping was getting annoying. The film does, however, stick very well to paint. Surprisingly well, in fact. Far better than one might want. The wrap was on for seven days, which would appear to have been approximately seven days too many. While it ostensibly did prevent track debris from damaging my paint, and protected it from a door ding in the parking lot as well, almost none of it came off cleanly, leaving a *very* tacky, sticky white residue on the car wherever it was applied. It is not without its irony that the very intimidating amount of glue that is now left on my car is much, much stickier than the wrap was when it came off the roll. If it were any stickier, I could use it to store the car on my ceiling to free up floor space in the garage. If the manufacturer included a detailing spray for removing the glue, I might rate the product higher, or if they provide one separately, one might conclude that the wrap is a cruel joke designed only to make you purchase the spray. While, as noted in an earlier review, it is quite a bit less expensive than the xpel stuff, I am forced to conclude that that is for some good reasons. All in all, while it *technically* did the job it claimed to, it did everything else unsatisfactorily and I cannot in good conscience recommend it. Update, several days later: After spending a solid EIGHT HOURS working at it with a combination of isopropanol, automotive Goo-Gone, and car washing detergent, I managed to get most of it off. Because I am an idiot, I also managed to scrub some of the dirt that had become trapped in the edges of the glue lines into the car's paint, causing some pretty nasty swirl marks that I have to buff out now, and the cleaners have pulled *all* the wax out of the paint, so it's looking pretty hazy. That's not technically the Track Armour's fault, but it was certainly complicit. I am pretty sure that I would have preferred a little track patina over spending the time I've spent cleaning and the time I'm about to spend cut-polishing to get the paint back to where it was before I put this stuff on the car. If you are considering using this product still, I would recommend that you instead just skip the middleman and key the crap out of the front of your car yourself. You will then have sixty-five bucks in your pocket that you would not have had otherwise, and you can then spend that money on polishing compounds to fix the scratches and then on whiskey to take the edge off the regret while you polish your free time away.

It will definitely work to protect from chips and scratches. It goes on fairly easy, but I found that it leaves the air bubbles trapped underneath when using soapy water to assist with install. I did have to remove a piece, and it does leave pieces of residue behind. They do wipe of fairly easy. With all of this said, it may have been how I installed it. It will definitely do what I bought it for.
