San Martin 62Mass homage (sn007gb). This is my first san martin. I have the spb317 but have always wanted the spb453. For now this san martin will do. First is the disappointment for me: the bezel action. I watched several youtube reviews and every single review have a positive bezel feedback- tight rotation, great clicks. Mine has a micro play forward but not backwards and tiny sounding. But that’s it! Everything else is great! The dial is beautiful! I got the grey sunburst and i am glad i did. It shines in different angles. The greenish/yellowish markers compliments the dark grey dial and the chrome hands and border of the markers. The SM enblem is also a perfect logo. It isnt big but is unique and looks expensive. The case is 39mm and is perfect for my 6.25” wrist. The bracelet. Oh man the bracelet is like strapcode or militat bracelet - it is premium! Very heavy and feels beefy. The clasp is on the same level. Applied SM emblem, two button closure system, 4 level micro adjust. It has a pin and collar system and it is actually better than the ones i have on my seiko speedtimers. The collar on the speedtimer is very very very small. If you’re not careful you will lose them. The collar of this san martin is long (check out my pic it is about half the size of the pin! Very easy to handle and not easy to lose. For my wrist i removed two links on the 6 oclock side, and 1 from the 12 oclock side. Alittle adjustment on the microadjust and it is a perfect fit! The sapphire has antireflective. It is soooo clear and brilliant. I dare say same and even better than the sapphire on my spb317 (both new)! Water resistance is 200m which is pretty standard in todays world of dive watches. The lume is fantastic! I also have a seiko samurai and it the lume of the san martin can go toe-to-toe with the samurai. I have to say that i am glad i bought this san martin. I was excited to get it and even more excited to wear it. Got it for about $230 after tax so it isnt terribly expensive and i wouldnt worry too much if i wear as a GADA (go anywhere do anything) watch. Oh the packaging is superb too! I really don’t like the cheap plastic case BUT the watch came in with full wrap - clasp is filmes, entire watch is wrapped with clear protective cover and it is wrapped in bubble wrap. My spb317 didnt even have a protective covering on the glass (but i think the AD removed it). If you are looking for a first auto watch and are still reading my review, i would highly recommend this san martin 62mas homage. If you’re thinking of getting a seiko for about $200-400 as your first watch, i would encourage you to try this san martin. I dont think you will be disappointed. If you are thinking of getting the spb453, but dont know how it would fit you and all, i would recommend getting this san martin first. You get the same look and feel. Really, the only difference is the movement inside but if you are totally new to the watch game or already have a dozen or more in rotation, you would not see the difference.

I wasn't expecting much when I ordered this. I was in for a major surprise! Quality for the price was of the charts. I have a watch that I paid 3 times the money and this is just as nice! You won't be disappointed if you purchase.

I went through a couple of different watches over the last few years - Seiko, Apple etc. Apple doesn't do well in the wild, died in a pool, the Seiko is a good watch but the dial was such that my old eyes couldn't read it without glasses. Checked Seiko for dark face and white hands and waterproof (not resistant), and everything was over $400 or $500 dollars. Googled for a cheaper substitute and this kept popping up. Solid beautiful watch, keeps perfect time over the last few days, fits my wrist well, good bracelet, I have nothing but praise. Now I just need to hit the pool or lake, and see how it fairs, lol. I got it on sale for $170 so I don't mind wearing it everyday as a beater watch. Also, it's pleasantly heavy. Buy it.
