Med Pillow - Light Purple

I read many product reviews before I bit the bullet and invested in this pillow support - and it was an investment as the price point is higher than many of its competitors. I cannot say I wasn't tempted to go with the cheaper 80's throwback style but after just a week with this pillow, I am really glad I didn't. My positive experience began with the customer service "tips" email I received shortly after ordering; that level of service continued to surpass expectations after I received the pillow, as text message support for some questions I had was prompt and helpful. My impression is that this is a company that cares and wants their customers to be satisfied.The pillow was shipped quickly and arrived in a smaller package than I expected. There was no outgassing, no odor at all even though the pillow had been compressed and tightly wrapped in plastic. This was cited as an issue with other brands. I followed a reviewer's tip, took off the pillow cover and put the pillow in the dryer for 30 minutes on medium. Voila - a fully puffed-out support. Make sure your dryer is large enough if you try this.I got the regular cover in chocolate. The color is as shown. The cover is like velveteen, soft to the touch and, thankfully, amazingly, does not attract lint. I believe the pillow weighs about 9 pounds, so it is not too much of a monster to move around; the handle makes lifting it easy and is secured tightly to the pillow. That said, the pillow is not insubstantial either and is best for use on the bed, reading, watching videos or attending the all too frequent virus-generated Zoom meetings. It would not work for me as well in a chair or on the couch due to the thickness of the pillow. I haven't used the back pocket but the side pocket is very useful and great for holding a phone or a remote.The back without the neck pillow is definitely 24 inches, providing much higher support than the standard 18 inches of many other pillows. That alone is enough to make me grateful I chose this pillow after having sat against it for extended meetings.The ability to unzip the pillow to remove (or add) foam is a huge benefit for me. I decided I needed the back to be a bit more flexible to curve more under the base of my spine and I wanted the arms to come closer to my body. Removing foam achieved both those goals. I will warn you, however, do not wear black leggings and do it in an area that is easy to sweep. Despite sticking the opening of a plastic kitchen trash bag inside the zipper for transferring the foam, the filling escaped my hands and surrounded me. I strongly advise having a dryer sheet handy. It worked wonders to minimize static cling as I gathered the wayward pieces.The only drawback for me was the neck/head roll that attaches to the top of the main pillow. I found myself wishing it too had a zipper so I could adjust the amount of filling as it is just a bit too firm. I may end up making a small slit to remove some foam then duct tape the opening before putting the separate cover back on it. The roll has elasticized bands to attach it to two buttons on top of the main pillow. The bands have 3 openings so the roll can be secured tighter to the top or left to drop down a bit with either of the other two band openings. However, due to the fullness of the neck/head roll, if it is left to hang down, it rolls back up as I lean against it. If it is buttoned in the tightest position, the neck/head roll offers more support but is set back a bit too far for me to keep my head upright even with the pillow against the wall, thus it is not especially useful when reading or watching a video. It is better for leaning back and resting. The neck/head roll also is useful off the main pillow to support a book or my arms in front of my body if I am leaning forward to watch a screen and is also good as a support beneath my knees.The pillow and the cover can be washed and the company offers a 3 year warranty and options to buy more foam, as well as replacement or 2-color reversible covers. I expect this pillow to last for some time and recommend it for its features, quality and for the customer service experience.

I honestly love this product. I'm a large guy (6'2'', 280lbs) and the larger sizes available are exactly what I needed. It's difficult to find something that provides comfort and support for someone my size and this does the trick.The only reason I'm giving a 4 instead of a 5 is due to the stitching quality on the cover. After only 4 months some of the seems around where my elbows rest had started to come undone. I'm capable of a bit of sewing, so I stitched them back up myself, but thought I'd let people know.

Very comfortable

I just received my pillow. I removed it from the vaccume bag. Holy cow!!! The fabric is GORGEOUS! I was a little sceptical, because some of the reviews said that the pillow felt "hard", or the fabric wasnt "plush enough"....but take it from me, a genuine buyer of this incredible pillow, its a 10+ and it hasn't even filled out 100% yet.My parrots were on the couch, curious about what I was opening. After I gently punched the pillow to try to disperse the filling, Zeke, my blue and gold macaw, hopped on and snuggled down in a squatting position. He was nesting! He immediately started rubbing his beak back and forth. Zeke knows the word "pet" and he will "pet" me, so he was "petting" the pillow! He made little happy parrot growling sounds, similar to a cat purring.... if you're a macaw owner, you'll recognize this sound that they make when they're happy! He has now appropriated MY pillow. He also won't let his arch nemesis, my second macaw BeBe, anywhere near the pillow! I see we may need to purchase 2 more, so everyone is happy! I gently removed my protesting parrot and put him on his perch. I also had to move BeBe, because as soon as Zeke was off of the pillow, she hopped on it! I let her play for a little bit, but I was anxious to try it myself! I put her back on her perch and tended to my new acquisition!Since I moved the foam around a lot, which is very easy, I was able to sit back on it and get an idea of how it will feel. It felt delightful and supportive but not hard. Sort of like the story if The Three Bears... this pillow was juuuuust right!I have a lumbar stimulator implanted in my back, specifically, the NEVRO HF-10. Im still healing from 5 surgeries, preformed over a year and a half, so anything comfortable, is a welcome change. I sleep sitting up..... I haven't laid on my back to sleep, in about 10 years! I've never truly been comfortable sleeping, even in my cushy adjustable bed. I prop a bunch of pillows behind me, one on either side of me, with the bed sat up as straight as I can get it. Just to give you an idea of how bad my sleep cycles are, I've never felt out of pain enough to sleep for a full night. I wake up in pain and cramping, every one to two hours and it's exhausting. Anyone with acute lumbar pain, or pain from a failed spinal fusion, NEEDS this pillow! I'll have a very good idea of how this is going to feel in 48 hours and Im SO excited at the thought that I will actually be able to get a GOOD night's sleep! I will update as soon as I prop this beauty behind me and pass out from sheer exhaustion! I need about a week with it, to make sure I don't get any pressure spots, however it still feels like it needs a bit more stuffing. Thank goodness the company will accommodate me and send me a bag, for FREE! This may have been the BEST purchase of 2020, and if I sleep well, it will be the best purchase of life after a spinal fusion..... and that's saying a LOT!!! bearyhot

I bought for travel use. I need to sit up in bed, and traveling is hard when you need this. I did not expect this to be so rigid. Hard as a rock. I took a ton of stuffing out, but trying to remove it in the right spots is a huge challenge. The zipper on the bottom but need less on shoulders… it’s near impossible to lessen that without removing 90% and then re-packing. A little each day yo get adjustments right. And what do you do with all the extra stuffing when you’re traveling??This design was just not thought out well.As far as usability for purpose it’s about the same. Adequate is some respects, not a full 5-star winner tho.I do appreciate the large design as I am a large person so the fit is good.

I love my backrest reading pillow!

This is my second husband pillow. It has good back support at the top but could use more at the bottom. I have been trying for 3 weeks to get my extra bag of oomph.
