Replacement Watch Strap Review
My old watch strap started ripping apart at the seam after three years of daily wear. I needed something tough to replace it because I work outside in the dirt a lot. I chose this brown leather one and put it on my classic automatic watch yesterday afternoon. The thick leather felt very stiff right out of the package when I first unrolled it. It takes some time to bend and soften up so it fits the curve of your wrist better. The small steel pins on the back made it simple to snap the bars into the lugs without using a tiny screwdriver. The stitching looks straight and the thread feels heavy duty like it will not snap easily. After wearing it through a full shift the leather did not stain my skin even when I got sweaty. The buckle holds tight in the hole and does not slip when I move my arm around fast. It looks very traditional and makes the watch look clean again.

Good for a couple of years
This is my second one, kind of. I got this for a Hamilton Khaki because I like the looks of this one enough to -not- pay $200 for a stocker. The first one was identical from a different seller/brand-er of watch bands. It lasted a couple of years as a daily on my son’s wrist until the leather layers separated (that stitching isn’t just for decoration, it keeps the thing from falling to pieces when the glue inevitably gives up). The band sat for a month before my son decided to bite the bullet and break the new one in. I feel for him, it’s a process getting a new leather band to bend in the right places and get comfortable. The reinforcement stitches made that procrastination possible and encouraged me to buy another of the same design. Comes with a new set of lug pins, in a plastic bag. Super easy to install, just hook one side of the lug, compress the pin and put in the other side. No tools needed but if you’ve got weak/no fingernail, maybe use a butter knife.
