The product description says water resistant, but it doesn't say so on the face of the watch, which you normally see on WR watches. Is it?

As the owner of this watch for 12 years, I can tell you to go ahead and disregard the people who say you can only "wash it but don't submerge it." Baloney. The manufacturer may not claim its waterproof (because then how do they claim the next step up is better? Or avoid having to replace the occasional QC fail?) But here's a list of what you can do in this watch without concern: I've snorkeled in this watch down to 5 meters for four+ hours of continuous submersion. I've laid in a pool for an entire day, playing volleyball and going down waterslides. I've parasailed and jumped off high dives. I've gone jetskiing, boating, waterskiing, tubing, kneeboarding and fallen HARD wearing it. I've showered, bathed and sat in hot tubs FAR beyond the recommended healthy time limit with it on. Not a whiff of condensation or corrosion. NEVER been serviced. Still keeps perfect time. With the exception of actual SCUBA diving beyond 5 meters, this watch can take it. Not sure if these other guys own one or just read a website describing what WR means, but I own it, I've owned it a long time, and there's simply no stopping this thing. There is literally no better watch on earth for $60. Believe me, I've looked. I also own far more expensive watches and keep considering re-buying this one. I love the size of it too, very demure. Can find it cheaper on ebay and other watch sites than on amazon, too.

When replacing the band on this watch, must you use an 18mm band or will larger bands work?

An 18mm band is the largest size you may use on the Seiko 5 SNK807.

I see months showing on the photos, is it different than the other seiko 5s like the 809?

It only shows day and date. The day can be set for either English or Spanish, on the photo is shows Spanish.

The guide comes in spanish?

Can’t remember, this is not a good watch, it stopped working in 1 year.

Absolutely love it

A bit late to review this, but I love this watch...my first automatic watch... absolutely love this..I would recommend every watch lover to get this for their collection..the watch feels amazing on hand..a bit small if u like wearing chunky watches but it's more like a formal statement watch...i like the belt, but I replaced it with a tan leather belt...a nato would work like a charm with this watch...I can't complain about this one..love it

SEIKO 5 Automatic.A WORK HORSE from SEIKO with 7S26C movement , Lumbrite feature & Exhibition case back is delighted feature, Matching dark blue canvas strap is with metal link & with hole infused rubber strip for proper fastening.Speedy delivery; I got it from Amazon Global Store before they committed delivery date ( almost one week early )Also I got at very good price at about INR 5K+I received it with USA market Blue colored Seiko box with Seiko USA Registration form; Seiko instruction manual, & without stamped / filled Seiko Warranty card ( but no problem as Amazon has already informed that Warranty is not applicable in India )Also manufacturing country Malaysia Inscription is definite assurance , which I may not have found if I have purchased it from Asian marketOverall very happy shopping experience with AmazonDial size is 38 mm, which is perfect for medium wrist up to 6-7 inches; but for those whose wrist is bigger than 7 inches then it is not a cup of tea for them.Dial Color is dark blue almost inclining towards black color. Actually it should have Light blue .

Neatly designed Dial

Well designed dial, won't take much time to read the time. Every aspect is taken care, hours hand with inner circle and minute hand split colour so that it isn't read incorrect. I love watching the movement of the seconds hand. Above all it's looks cool on my wrist.
