I’ve been using the Braun Smart IPL, Silk· Expert Pro 5 for the past 4 days, and I’m already impressed with the experience. The device feels very premium and is easy to handle, with clear settings that make it beginner-friendly. The included precision head is especially helpful for smaller areas like the upper lip and underarms, while the standard head works well on legs and arms. In terms of results, while it’s too early to expect permanent hair reduction, I have noticed that hair regrowth already seems a little slower and finer compared to shaving. The sessions are quick, virtually painless, and the skin feels smooth afterward without irritation. The cooling technology and gentle mode also make it comfortable for sensitive areas. The compact pouch makes storage and portability simple, and the build quality feels durable. Overall, I can see why this device is highly rated. If results continue to improve over the coming weeks as recommended, it will definitely prove to be a great investment for long-term hair reduction. This is an excellent product for at home easy hair removal and smooth skin!! It’s easy to use and intuitive! And for those of you worried it might be painful, it’s not!! One of my favorite features is the ability to switch between a super gentle mode (for those more sensitive areas) and a stronger mode (for those less sensitive larger areas with thicker hair)!! All while knowing that you’re safe because the device is constantly scanning your skins health and will alert you if there’s a problem. It also will help you to improve your technique each time you use it, to help you achieve maximum effectiveness and ease of use! Another feature I love, especially for someone like myself who has a hard time keeping track of certain things like schedules, is the ability to have the app on my phone and get reminders for each session that I have scheduled for each part of my body, so that over a longer period of time I will be able to treat each part of my body in the correct intervals so that nothing gets missed or overdone! What an excellent way to help keep track of your body’s progress and insure that nothing gets neglected!! Like having an office to remind you about your appointments! But you never have to go to an office!!! You can do it all from home, or wherever you’d like, since the device is also very travel friendly!!! And great quality! Over all a 10/10 product in my book!

Opening up the product you immediately are provided a large card with a QR code to link you to their app. The app provides initial setup including instructions and a test step as well as scheduling features in order to keep track of your sessions. The app provides a means to track multiple different areas that you are working on that may have a different schedule or been started at different times. This is a really nice feature which helps ensure proper use and effect. Using the actual product is quite easy and while very bright (might want to wear sunglasses) the feeling of being zapped is small and tolerable. The manual suggests you just look away but I found that not only a bit awkward but also less user friendly than just watching it with protective eyewear on. In general the manual suggests that so long as the product is pressed firmly on the skin, the light emitted will not hurt you but it is bright. My only grip with the product is the confusion between the app and the manual. It seems to me, although I may be wrong about this, you have to pair the device to the app before it'll actually start zapping. The manual however does not mention this step at all. The instructions are quite clear in the manual on how to turn it on, the various features, and how you should operate it. After reading the manual I assumed I could just perform my test section just based off of that alone, however I was not able to get it to start zapping until paired with the app. Once paired with the app however it seemed to have no problem being used outside of the app. You power it on, click the big button once, it heats up, then you press into your skin and zap. So TLDR: install the app, pair it, and follow the instructions through the app. Afterwards you can read the manual for some more detailed written instructions and safety warnings but the app is required for initial setup (so far as I could tell). If the manual had made it clear that the first step was pairing it with the app, I would have given this 5 stars.

I've wanted an IPL device for awhile and I'm so excited about this product. This is my first time using a device like this. The instructions are clear and the app makes set-up and getting started super easy. My skin tone and hair color are a great match for using this device and the skin test provided in the app confirmed it. I had no discomfort or redness after my first use. It took a little trial and error to get the hang of how to hold the device and make perfect contact with the skin in certain areas like around the ankles and knees, but the variety of device heads included made switching it up super simple. I'm impressed with the quality of the whole package including the packaging and instructions, the app, the device, and I especially love all the accessories and the storage bag that are included. The cord on the device is super long which is very helpful. I experienced little to no pain using the device. Some sensitive areas had a little sting for a split second while the device flashed, but there was no lingering discomfort. I can't wait to see how effective this is over the course of use, I'm feeling very positive that it will give great results. The app is going to be so handy for sending me treatment time reminders and tracking my goals to hair free skin!

I’m very sad because for two years I really wanted to have this Braun IPL hair removal device. I dreamed about buying it, and when I finally did, I was extremely happy. The first week went very well. The second week also went very well. After those sessions, the hair on my legs noticeably decreased — it was truly visible. It was barely growing back and took much longer to appear. The underarm hair showed similar results. The bikini area was improving too, although not as noticeably as the legs and underarms. However, during the third week session, the device suddenly stopped flashing the red light. I checked it several times, but it simply would not work. I requested a return through Amazon within the first 30 days, but honestly, I’m very disappointed. In the short time I used it, I can say that it does deliver results. I really did see improvement. I just don’t know what happened — mine seems to have been defective. Additionally, I am in Colombia and the app does not work here, which was another inconvenience. I’m considering buying the version that does not require the app, but I feel discouraged after this experience. Now I just hope I don’t have any issues with the return process. I truly feel sad because I had longed for this device for so long, and unfortunately, it was not the best experience for me.
