Brush and bristles are of good quality. I have fine hair medium thickness and the brush grips the hair well and produces a nice finish.

DISAPPOINTED I was trying to find a budget-friendly alternative to my favorite (expensive!) brush. It needed to be ionic/ ceramic and have both firm bristles and boar bristles. This FIXBODY brush seemed comparable and was $16 cheaper, so I bought it. But it left me frustrated and disappointed! BRUSHING OBSERVATIONS Using this brush was not a good experience. The tips of the bristles (the firm bristles, not the boar ones) are ROUGH and would get caught on my tangles and pull/ stretch/ break my hair. I cringe even remembering the experience. Each stroke levitated my strands from the static electricity. It did NOT make my hair smoother or shinier. On the contrary, my hair looked worse. BRUSHING - COMPARISON Then I brushed my hair with my favorite brush (Olivia Garden) for a comparison. The experience was totally different! The Olivia Garden brush effortlessly glided thru my hair leaving it smoother and shiner in a magnificent way. Detangling was a cinch. My hair had more volume, and there was absolutely no frizz or flyaways. DAMN IT TO HELL Why does the FIXBODY brush suck so bad!?! My analytical and obsessive mind HAD to know why. (And my frugal nature was pissed off that I wasted $12.) So, I pulled out my strong magnifying glass and jewelry loupes. Here is what i noticed. (FIRM) BRISTLES Upon magnification, I discovered that the bristles on the FIXBODY brush splay abruptly at the ends. (Imagine the flat heads on the straight pins that you use when sewing.) My guess is that the manufacturing process involves melting/ soldering the bristle ends as a means of cutting them. (FIRM) BRISTLE - COMPARISON Then I inspected my favorite brush under magnification. The bristle quality was totally different! My fave brush has firm bristles that slowly taper into a smooth rounded tip with absolutely nothing for my hair to get snagged on. (See my uploaded pic of the comparison. The brown FIXBODY brush is on the left and the silver Olivia Garden brush is on the right.) CERAMIC/ IONIC I had done a lot of research on ionic/ ceramic brushes. I found out that the majority of the brushes that are labeled as ionic or ceramic are actually only ionic on their barrel/ cushion NOT on the bristles. I believe this FIXBODY brush to be one of these because it left my hair stale and staticy. There was no visual or textual improvement. CERAMIC/ IONIC - COMPARISON In contrast to this, the Olivia Garden brush (that I love so much) is ionic/ceramic all around: both in the cushion AND firm bristles. Which is probably why there is such a marked difference in results. CONCLUSION The FIXBODY brush does NOT "protect your hair from damage" "reduce brittle hair and split ends" or "make hair ... healthy" as it states. (How in the heck does this brush have so many good reviews!) DISCLAIMER I have no affiliation to Olivia Garden. I only mention them throughout this review because I was on a mission to find a cheaper alternative to their awesome brush when I bought this FIXBODY brush. I am NOT receiving money or products from them. (I only wish I was.) I HAVE NO SHAME Just in case someone from Olivia Garden happens to come across this review, I am totally willing to test/review you free products!! LOL

I recently received a negative ion hairdryer and knew it was time for new round hairbrush. I admittedly had not regularly dried my hair with a hairdryer for years, but an updated haircut made me more confident with a great hairstyle so I knew it was time to put in the effort. I have shoulder length, one length hair. This brush was the perfect size. Does not get tangled up in my hair. The perfect accompany for my new hairdryer makes styling by myself a breeze. The brush is high-quality, lightweight and comes in different sizes for your hair length. I think this is a great choice
