The sunscreen is for face.But you can still use it for body.

About the finish in the face, is the 2022 new version as matte as the 2021 version?

I do not know about 2021 version. But this is very thin and silky. I do not think it’s matte. I used old version 2019 which was definitely “matte” feeling.
