Garmin 010-12883-00 HRM-Dual Heart Rate Monitor

Garmin heart rate belt. Easy to attach it but impossible to connect to GARMIN watch.

昔々、仕様おんなじガーミンの3点セットを購入した時は心拍計の裏面電池交換する為のドライバーは付属して無かった気がしますが…今回、単品で心拍計を購入したところ専用精密ドライバーが付属してたのでビックリ😊確かに裏面ネジ穴がプラスではないような気がします😊もちろん市販の精密ドライバーでも開けられちゃいます…と思ったらよくみたら⭐︎型⁈、これじゃ専用ドライバー付属は仕様なんですね。ハッキリいうと使いずらい仕様ですね。

締め付け感も無く良い

私の場合は本体内蔵の赤外線センサーでは運動時の心拍数がEPSONでもGarminでも全く不正確でしたが、このベルトで正確な心拍数が得られてトレーニングの定量化が正確にできるようになりました。

I have used Garmin HRMs for years. Usually I get 2 years of use before they corrode and become unusable. I ordered my last 2 HRMs on Amazon. The older (purchased Sep, 2021) one on the left was fulfilled by Amzaon, JP. You can see the corrosion around the electrodes. The one on the right was fulfilled by a seller (Greenmusic) that sells on Amazon, JP. Unfortunately, the new HRM never worked properly from the start. I tried all the troubleshooting steps, but no luck. I missed the return window because I was hoping it would be fixable. So, I contacted Garmin CS and discovered they couldn't fix it because it didn't have the proper marking for electronic goods to be sold in Japan. They said they weren't allowed to fix it. The HRM cost me 10,000 yen and now it is useless. Garmin won't fix it. Lesson.... if you buy an electronic product through a seller other than Amazon Japan, there is no way to know if the product is allowed to be repaired here. If you have a problem, you are out of luck. Also, there was no indication the HRM was a "parallel import," or that the product did not meet Japanese code for electronics. I think this is a big problem. The seller should have provided this information on the Amazon site.

The Garmin HRM has a design flaw that makes the contacts to the belt rust easily. Better get a cheap CooSpo if it anyways does not last long.

Tested this chest belt HR sensor, a.k.a. the HRM Dual, during working, walking, running, cooking, eating and sleeping. HR was picked up quite accurate and above all much better than the Garmin optical wrist sensors which often have the habit of picking up stride rate instead of HR especially when the air temperatures are lower in winter. The Breath Rate was picked up similarly poor as with the optical wrist sensor. It is off about 2 BRPM e.g. 5 instead of 3 when performing a real 3 BRPM breathing exercise. Bought in February 2023. Stopped working in December 2025. Too fast imho, down from 5 stars to 3. One side of the belt's contact sensors isn't connecting anymore, probably internal wiring broken - probably the weakest part of the belt design. That's a bit less than 3 years and around 3500 running kilometers. Now the price is above JPY10000. In 2023 it was bought for JPY 7898. The internal battery was still at 2.9V level after 16 months of use. For new buyers I suggest to try to find other cheaper chest HR monitors (CooSpoo or something) that are compatible with Garmin Connect platform having ANT+ interfacing protocol. For users with the same problem, buy a cheap Garmin HRM compatible belt for around JPY1000, with the press-button contact centers at 4.5cm distance and reuse the Garmin HR counting/wireless unit.

I got it to accurately monitor my heart rate during workouts where I have to take off my watch (mainly when boxing) it is very accurate and instantly connects to my garmin watch. Comfortable to wear even when I'm soaking in my sweat, I forget it's there. It measures my HR instantly and accurately during any workout. The only thing I noticed is that it tends to stop measuring for a few seconds sometimes and I don't know the reason for this. Other than that, it's a great monitor from a great brand
