The Eucharist: Mystery of Presence, Sacrifice, and Communion explores the three ends of the Sacrament of Sacraments: God's true presence, His redemptive sacrifice, and spiritual nourishment through communion with Him. In this follow-up to his groundbreaking work, Faith Comes From What Is Heard , Lawrence Feingold constructs a biblical vision of the Eucharist from its prefigurement in the Old Testament to its fulfillment in the New and presents the Eucharistic theology of the Church Fathers, St. Thomas Aquinas, and magisterial teaching from centuries past through today. The Eucharist is a masterful text, both challenging and spiritually rich, that comprehensively examines the unspeakable mystery that is the Eucharist. Review: Exceptionally Rewarding - I am just an ordinary 65-year-old Catholic Kansan who loves the Eucharist. When I first stumbled upon this book, I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into it. What an exceptional reading experience! Dr. Feingold discusses the Eucharist and all that it means to the Catholic Church from numerous directions and perspectives with an engaging emphasis on the details that make it clear to the reader that the Church has put enormous amounts of thought and effort into her Eucharistic theology. This book should serve as the intellectual foundation of the Eucharistic revival now going on in the Catholic Church in America. If one finds the 607 pages of text daunting, I suggest taking a patient and prayerful approach to reading it. It is well worth the time and effort. Review: Good book - Good book

Accessible and insightful
I had to purchase Feingold's text for a course I am taking on the Eucharist — in short, Feingold's text is accessible and deeply insightful. From the first few pages, the author manages to write in a way that is both engaging and yet intellectually challenging. The author encourages us to think beyond the obvious and to witness the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. It's a superb text that I highly recommend.

Incredible book. Everything people need to know about the Eucharist.
This book is the stuff of dreams. It provides a theological and spiritually enriching walk through the Eucharist. Is perfect for Holy Hours and Homilies. The people in the pews need to hear/read this. Its also designed to be a textbook. I recommend this for liturgical theology course, especially in seminaries.

Excellent resource!
What an incredible book. Very scholarly and yet a great read. It does great into a great deal of philosophy and theology. One should be aware that this would be a great book for an advanced classroom as in a seminary. With that in mind, I found it an excellent work on the Catholic understanding of the Eucharist!

The Eucharist Explained
This should be required reading for all Ministers of the Eucharist especially those who during the worst days of the Covid19 epidemic assiduously sanitised their hands both before and after distributing the Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Wissen und Glauben
(English version below.) Absolut empfehlenswert! ///// I rarely do write book reviews and even rarer do I write book reviews while I have not read the whole book yet (I am currently on page 220). But with Lawrence Feingold's 'The Eucharist' I make an exception. It is really an extraordinary book: with its fine considerations, its balanced arguments and its countless sources and footnotes it probably satisfies the highest academic standards. At the same time the book is absolutely accesible and exciting for lay people (even as non native speaker and with a decent knowledge of the english language Feingold's book is readable). And despite the academic tone the book has, it is obviously leavened by the author's and capable of deepening the readers faith and devotion. In this sense it is a truly catholic book that combines satisfaction of the intellect with the deepening of faith. Highly recommended!
