I bought this pen to write Chinese characters, thinking it would let me write brush-pen like strokes - like what people did in videos with alphabets. I’d say it's different when coming to write Kanji/Chinese characters as it's still a fountain pen. You can create thick/varying lines for the left-to-right strokes (as a right handed person) if you apply high pressure, but not in the case of right-to-left strokes. However, the Pilot pen with a falcon nib is still a very pleasant pen to write with. As others mentioned it’s a ‘light-feeling’ pen that can write at low pressing force. I felt it’s important to find a ‘sweet point’s of pressure (pressure you apply to the nib, as well as the pressure you hold the shaft). Too much pressure slows down your speed and may even result in less variation of stroke thickness (Kanji/Chinese characters). On the other hand do not write too lightly, so that you can still have stable lines and good control of the strokes. I have attached a picture of what kind of strokes I was able to write at a regular-ish speed. (1st and 2nd picture, *There are three fuzzy characters, they are stained by water on my finger, not the problem of pen/ink/paper ;p). The falcon nib is VERY flexible. It can be used with light to medium pressure to create SOME variation of line thicknesses. I never experienced any ‘dry strokes’. I guess if you keep using high pressure to push the limit of the nib for thicker strokes that could happen, but not when you write in a regular way. [If you're looking for a pen/nib being able to writing more dramatic change of line thickness for kanji/Chinese characters, look for a pen with specially ground nib (the Naginata Togi route). I bought some double-broad nibs off Ebay and ground them to special shapes and I was able to write some brush-pen like effect, but it's different writing experience that may not suit everyday use purposes] If you write with the back side of the nib, you can have very think lines and write 2mm – 5mm characters.

The purchase of this Waverly nib on the PIlot 912 was a gamble. It has turned out to be a winner ! This pen is allowing me to concentrate on my penmanship and write deliberately much to the pleasure of the recipient of my correspondence. At the same time, this pen allows me to race as I write where only I need to be able to read the written word. Because this nib is so forgiving and executes perfectly no matter my intent or technique this pen is now my every day writer. What a remarkable purchase. Thank you, Pilot !

POニブ＝ポスティングニブ。 ペン先の最先端部が内側（手前側）に曲げられた、パイロット万年筆だけの特殊ニブです。 最先端が手前に反らされているお陰で、ペン先がしっかり見える。 またインクフローは抑えめであり、紙面のインクはすぐに乾く。 以上により、小さい字や細い罫への筆記が非常に楽、かつ実用的です。 更に極細ニブながら紙をひっかくような感触はなく、滲みのない綺麗な筆跡が残ります。 但し、最先端が内側に沿っているので、少し慣れが必要です。すぐには思うような筆跡を残せないでしょう（すぐに慣れますが）。 最も便利に思えるのは、手帳へ小さく字を書くような場面です。この他にも文字を細かく書く必要がある場面では、このPOニブの独壇場と言えます。 必要がある方にはぜひオススメしたいです。

This is a good product. The FA nib can write hiragana beautifully. Writing script English is also good. But for Chinese character, it's just ok. Comparing with my Pilot Elabo sm, this FA flexed better, but not as smooth as the Elabo. The Elabo is good for drawing, the FA is good for writing.

Tracked delivery worked well. The pen is lovely and the FA nib is very nice to use.

Pen arrived very quickly. The FA nib is significantly softer and more flexible than the SF nib. If you've only used stiff nibs, it may take a little getting used to, but it's well worth the effort. It forces you to relax your hand, so you can write for long periods without cramping. It adds character and expressiveness to your handwriting.

安定した線幅で細い線が書けてとても書きやすいです。インクフローもよくてかすれなどもありません。

書き心地は悪くないのだが、使う紙を非常に選ぶと思う。私が普段使いするようなその辺にある一般的な紙は文字が滲んで汚らしくなってしまう。ペンクリニックで調整もしてもらったが、インクを絞るにも限度があり普段使いには向かなかった。万年筆用のちょっといい紙に使う人向けだと思う。

I am glad I purchase this. It is well balanced (could be a bit heavier as I like heavy pen). I thought Japanese pen is thinner, but this C nib is as broad as Sheaffer Heritage B nib, almost similar to BB of LAMY 2000. It is butterly smooth and wet, I inked it immediately and has no problem writing. I just find it perfect!

You pay for what you get. Pilot out of the box are just super smooth and amazing to write with. I have quite a few cheaper pilots too such as the Kukuno which i use for daily note taking and not worried about it being thrown around in my bag. Same goes for my Perera's which I collect due to the various colour demonstrators they come in. I've now done the same with my Preppy's which are all Fine or Extra Fine nibs. Unfortunately (well fortunately to be honest) I have fallen down that fountain pen rabbit hole and building up my horde of various brands,types and coloured fountain pens. My most precious so far is the Montblanc 146 which I recently got for my 55th b'day. That said if you want a good flex pen and don't want the smell of an Ahab flex pen (the flex on those are incredible) then the Pilot 912 is fantastic. Definitely something to start your journey before moving onto dip pens for calligraphy if that is what you are after.

Répond parfaitement à mon besoin. Un très bonne plume extra fine. Elle est vraiment très fine et très souple. Je regrette juste le corps de stylo du modèle bamboo qui était bien plus original et moderne.

I got the Custom Heritage with a waverly nib. The nib is smooth and a pleasure to write with. The pen is a dream to use. Love the size and design. The seller was quick and the pen arrived in perfect condition.
