Great Value for the Price
First off, I do have one minor issue with this light: the UI. I have a small collection of flashlights with at least four other WUBEN lights, and I'm not sure why they decided to change their usual UI with this one. One of my favorite features of my other WUBEN lights is the immediate access to Turbo mode. That was removed here. The flashlight has to be turned on first before holding the button will activate Turbo mode. On top of that, the brightness cycling is not linear. First it cycles brightness up, then it cycles down. Everything still works correctly, it just takes a lot more clicks to get back to where you were if you accidentally go too far (plus you don't know if the next step will be up or down unless you remember). Aside from that, the WUBEN L3 exceeded expectations. One of my necessities in a flashlight like this is for it to tail-stand. This one passes the test. More importantly, for a flashlight in this price range, the brightness is crazy. Whether you're walking at night, checking the backyard, or just keeping it in your car for emergencies, this thing will definitely be bright enough. The beam is powerful, focused, and has great throw. For the price, you're getting performance that competes with flashlights twice its cost. It feels sturdy and well-built, like I expect from WUBEN. The battery life is solid too, even on higher brightness settings. Overall, if you want a reliable, incredibly bright flashlight without breaking the bank, this is a great choice. Highly recommend.

Unreliable and faulty
Update 7/22/25 - second replacement has tail cap switch issues. When cycling through the modes, the mode will get stuck and only way to turn off light is unscrewing back end. This light is pure junk. DO NOT BUY. This is my second L3, I had to replace the first one for several reasons. The first one had several issues that were not acceptable. The first reason was because the emitter produced a donut hole effect that was very noticeable. The other reason was when I removed the pocket clip, it took some of the paint off, and I didn’t even twist or do anything to the clip, I just pulled it straight off. Now I know it’s a tool first and foremost, but for a light that says it’s tough I don’t think the paint should do that right off the bat. As for the function, the light produces very good light. The size is a beast but the actual milling of the aluminum is great. It does heat up on the strongest setting but that is to be expected. Power bank is a great function and works great. The power of the modes is great. I like the tone of the light and throw is amazing. So overall, it’s a great light, but there seems to be bugs to work out.

Very Pleased with this L3
The Wuben L3 is a powerful flashlight. I have worked over the flashlight and I am pleased with it’s performance. I purchased the green version and I love the color. It is a dark, forest green. The anodizing is high quality, and the printing is crisp. I bought this to serve as a longer light throwing flashlight that can still comfortably fit in a pocket and it fulfills that mission well. Some of my favorite features are: * It has good throwing power but still projects some light to the sides. It provides enough flood illumination to light up your immediate area but still gives me a decent spot light capability. I feel it is a good balance between the two modes * I don’t know the exact color temperature of the LED however the light feels good to me. * The clip is beefy and large enough to fit over everything from a belt to military style webbing. It feel solid and unlike some other lights I have used, I doubt it will break easily. * Wuben has stenciled labels onto the flashlight that provide helpful information on battery location, charging port and where the light will get hot. The product label on the light is nice and crisp but not overwhelming. * The instructions have both pictorial diagrams showing how to use the light and written text! Sometimes I have found that pictorial diagrams are confusing so I appreciate the written instructions. The grammar and spelling in the instruction manual is correct for American English. * The “operating system” for the flashlight is simple and intuitive. * Wuben provides a 1 year warranty on the battery and a 5 year warranty for the rest of the flashlight. They also offer lifetime repair services for the flashlight. * Finally a high capacity flashlight that uses PD charging! It will charge at up to 18 watts (5v/2amp, 9v/2amp, or 12v1.5amp) and comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable. This means it has the proper circuitry to negotiate a PD charging rate over USB C. The flashlight can be used as a power bank however I haven’t tested that function. I am sure it will work fine but to me a flashlight is a flashlight, not a power bank. This flashlight will be part of my regular carrying gear from now on.

For the price, this torch is very good. I'll compare it to an old Zanflare F1 which I also own. Size is very good, easily fits in a pocket. Weight is probably as good as it can be given the build quality and size of easily replaceable 18650 battery. USB C charging is handy (better than the F1 micro usb). Beam pattern and colour temp is good, slightly cooler than the F1 and a similar spread. Brightness settings: low is good for reading books it still has enough light to dimly light the area close to you. Level 2 is good for general use. Level 3 packs a fair level of illumination. Level 4 lights up a huge amount, I rarely use it. You have to cycle through the brightness levels to access them. Compared to the F1 it isn't as good on brightness control, not far off though. You cycle through the levels via the power button at the back/bottom of the torch on the Wuben so it is possible to switch the torch off in error. The F1 had a dedicated mode button so this couldn't happen. It also hid the max brightness mode behind a double click so you didn't always access it (only when you really needed it). Has a few other modes which I'll never really use, SOS and strobe. Do I like it? Yes. Would I recommend it? Yes. Has it surpassed my F1? Yes Do I use the torch on a daily basis? No, but I do use it. Would I carry it at night? Yes, perfect size and massively capable. Recommended? Yes

It has to be one of favourite tactical light. It has 5 different light modes to choose from. Perfect for camping and indoor pitch black rooms.

I could have spent loads more and I could even have spent much less, but I think this is the Goldilocks torch for a non-enthusiast. It is crazy bright and will light up a pitch black lane with ease. The build quality was far better than I expected and in my opinion is built as well as my more expensive fenix. It is really nice to hold and is a good weight. The finish is a high quality unlike some of the cheap torches I have had in the past. The key feature for me is that it does not require me to remove the battery and put the battery in a bespoke charger, but instead plugs directly in to a USB C charger cable. I also really like that there is an LED that can display the battery level. The lens on this is fantastic giving a relatively small hot spot and a good spread for the main beam. There is no zoom function, which for me is a benefit as it keeps it slim, I also think this is a pretty useless feature on a general purpose torch anyway. It is a shame it does not come with a case, but you can buy one. It does come with a lanyard and some spare o-rings which is nice. The button on the back works well, some of the cheap torches I have had in the past clearly save money here, but this is crazy as it is the main interface. With this torch they have clearly understood this as it is a good quality button and even has the logo on it (nice touch). I am genuinely so impressed with this torch. There are so many cheap torches that claim they are as bright or as well built and it is a minefield out there. There are also so many expensive fancy torches out there that the average person will never want to buy as they are just too pricey for the odd use on a dark night, a camping trip or power cut. Which brings me to my first paragraph, this is the Goldilocks torch, it is a reasonable price and a quality piece of kit. It is not super fancy but most importantly it is not a piece of cheap rubbish. Highly recommended!

What do you get? A small brown cardboard box with various details about the torch printed on the outside. Inside is a carboard insert holding the torch (in a plastic bag which is recyclable) under which you'll find an instruction leaflet (various languages), a wrist lanyard, USB-C charging cable and a small plastic bag containing 2 spare o-rings (for weatherproof/waterproof seal). Solid metal construction with a single rubber covered button at one end (which is used to select brightness. strobe on and off). There is also a metal pocket clip (removable) and a USB-C charging port covered in a rubber flap. In use this little torch pumps out an amazing amount of light at it's highest setting though at this setting the LED also generates a significant amount of heat. The lowest setting is kind of useless for the most part but some may find a use for it. There are only 2 small problems that bring it down from 5 to 4 stars. The charging port cover could be better, it feels flimsy and I fully expect it to tear loose at some point. The barrel of the torch really needs better knurling for improved grip, it's not terrible as it is but could be better. For the price the torch doesn't look like much....but then you turn it on and realise why it's actually decent value for money. UPDATE:- So good I bought it again! Not because the original stopped working or broke....I lost it. :(
