National Geographic Kids My First Atlas of the World: A Child's First Picture Atlas (NGK Atlases)

It is a great atlas and definitely keep our son engaged for very long time! It may require additional adult help for question that will arise but, it is great educational material, and a nice way to keep my kid away from the screens!

It is simple enough yet a great start in explaining geography to kids. Hardcover and large pages.

My 3 year old son loves to learn. I bought this book hoping he would like to look at it for a day or two - I was shocked when it is now his favorite thing to do! I think it is great for the basics ( understanding of continents and basic countries). The only downside is the pages rip easily with toddler hands so it already has some tape - not a huge deal.

Gives a good introduction to the planets and their relative sizes.

Great for young kids especially nice for military family so kids can see where parents are going

Very easy to understand. Not too much overwhelming information for ages 7 and under. Beautifully done.

Countries with "too little" square miles/kilometers are not labelled, including Bahamas, Jamaica, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Ghana, Mauritius, Senegal, Uganda, Cambodia, Jordan, South Korea among many, many others (± 70 in total). Geography educator Martha B. Sharma and writer Catherine D. Hughes (with her 35-year career at Nat. Geographic) decided that crafting a world view full of omissions is acceptable for kids. Huge fail. Do not buy. Shame on you National Geographic.
