Bass Guitar Primer Book for Beginners: with Online Video & Audio Access Paperback – July 12, 2018

I’ll admit, I am a Guitarist who has been gripped by the Bass. After talking with the Bassist in my Church band, He said the bass was a whole different animal. He is right! After reading about guitarists transitioning to bass and the habits a guitarist has on the bass (playing like a guitar), I felt I should start with basic, clear instruction. I am halfway through the book and lessons. The video is super helpful and the book is easy to follow and learn from. I highly recommend this book and video if you are serious about learning the bass.

i HAD SEVERAL BASS BEGINNER COURSES BUT THIS ONE WAS BETTER. iT SHOWS EVERYTHING. hoW TO READ TABLETURE WHICH IS SO EASY COMPARED TO LEARNEING TO READ NOTES.L. iT IS WELL ORGANIZED AND ILLUSTRATED. tHE DVD IS GOOD, DITTO THE CD. hOPE YOU LIKE IT. A year later.

this looks like a very good course it has a lot of info unfortunately i just haven't had the time to check into it but it it has a lot of videos that go with the book so i think it will be good

This book is great. It gives you the basics of the bass guitar, and teaches you tabulation which enables a beginner to start reading music almost instantaneously. It also allows the beginning student to play along with music.

A little outdated but made learning the bass very easy and painless

This book looks like it was resurrected from the 1970's. The photo quality is poor at best. The "video and audio access" means you go to a web site and download the audio, but you can't download the video, so you have to be online to watch it. The tabs are unlike any I've ever seen -- tabs have one line per string on the instrument, with the numbers on the lines representing the frets. The tabs in this book have an extra line and claims the spaces between the lines are the strings. Weird and non-standard. The tuning section is way out of date for a book supposedly written in 2018, it suggests using a tuning fork (!) or purchasing an electronic tuner for under $50 (! Amazon has a bunch that are less than $5).

A great place to start. It starts you off with the basic knowledge to be successful.

This was a gift for our grandson who got a bass guitar for Christmas. He seemed excited as his dad plays guitar, so now only time will tel!l

Easy to full

This is the book to get don't go looking elsewhere gets you going .Brilliant simple fingering index and ring finger not the four finger style which is impossible for me

Really well set out and easy to follow. As good as I've seen and better than most. I would buy it again.
