Easy to install

This pump only lasted a little over a year. I always made sure the basket was full of water and cleaned the filter regularly (about three times a year) to keep everything running properly. This morning I went to turn it on, and it was completely dead. No humming, no signs of life, nothing. It just stopped working out of nowhere. I even have a surge protector installed, so that shouldn’t be the issue. Honestly, I’m really disappointed. My previous pump lasted 8 years without problems. This one feels like a waste of money. I’d recommend saving your money and investing in a higher-quality pump instead.

Replaced a new slightly smaller pump that just didn’t seem to have what it takes - same brand - same company thanks to their outstanding cooperation on a return / replace basis. This baby kicks! It for sure is self priming and is so much quieter than our old (23 years old). I didn’t wait for the glue to set up. I turned it on and walked away a few steps. When I looked back it had blown a 2” line out of top and I had an 8-9’ tall fountain looking thing going in. I got soaked running through it to turn it off.

Pump is 2.5 hp but it moves less water than a 2 hp Hayward pump. Pump housing and all pump parts appear to be interchangeable with Hayward Super Pump II. Pump is quiet and creates less pressure on the system then the previous pump. This does make it safe not to pump too much pressure on the system. In conclusion, don’t be afraid to buy a 2.5 hp pump because it’s too strong. It’s not making more pressure that a good 2HP pump. I’ll report back if the pump dies within 2 to 3 years. if I get more than three out of it, I’ll be satisfied.
