Q: I work freelance, from office to office, is this portable? Can it be built and broken down pretty easy?

Hi Walter..yes I would agree with the below comments. Break down and set up is easy but carrying it around would be the more difficult part. If you were in each place for 1 or 2 weeks at a time then I think its a workable solution...if you were moving every day then it may be too cumbersome.

Q: Can a laptop fit on a regular desk between this desk if I want to sit down without removing the whole unit?

Hi DJG, thanks for your question. Yes the desk is designed to be small enough to sit off to one side of your desk so that you can sit at your laptop or computer on the normal part of your desk. This will of course depend somewaht on how big you desk is. I put my laptop in the space under the standing desk and then have one monitor on the standing desk and one on my normal desk and in that way it makes switching between sitting and standing much easier and smoother. Hope this answer makes sense.

Q: What are the dimensions of the upper shelf?

The upper shelf is 10" deep and 22" long. There is additional 2" of length on the upper shelf, but it is used to secure the upper shelf to the fixture.

Q: Has anyone tried using this sitting on the floor (and is it comfortable)? I'm 5'3" and hoping to alternate between standing and sitting. Thanks!

Thanks for your question...i have not used this sitting on the floor...i think the desk itself would work ok like this but overall i think it could be uncomfortable...if you are 5'3" and using it sitting down then you would need to consider clearance from the bottom keyboard shelf and your legs in the sitting position.
