It is easy to install, it works, but still a bit too noisy for my liking. But for a portable AC, I guess it is as good as it gets. The price point is expensive.

I had to move into my parents house in Phoenix to help take care of them when my mother hurt herself, and my father is insane, and doesn't believe in using the AC until June >.> I'm in a small room that faces the afternoon sun, and get boiling hot, even if the house AC is running because it also only gets a sideline offshoot duct that brings in almost no air. I looked at a very small Midea and a Frigidaire, both because of their compact size and lower power usage (I was concerned running my computer *and* an AC unit together in here) but settled on this guy after reading the reviews, and having several other LG products. I also liked that this was *not* made in China, unlike every other model I looked at. I know this is a very tiny room it's in, smaller than its recommended footage, but with the sun beating down and being 96 degrees out already, its capable of getting the room down to seventy degrees, within 15 minutes. With a computer and 65inch TV baking away. That's no joke, this thing is a beast. Yes, it's a little loud, a little larger than I was hoping for, and I wish I had a real 'low' setting, but for what it can do, I'm alright with that. Luckily it's dryer than good British comedy here, so I don't have to worry about water collection. Also, it *can* make an awful racket with the compressor running if the plastic housing is shifted just enough to make it touch the frame and vibrate, but I put a little piece of soft foam just under the lip of it on the bottom, and makes absolutely no noise now. Well, other than its normal operating blower fan drone. When it first did that, I was upset thinking it was a mechanical problem, and I'd have to deal with a heavy return. Then I realized it went away completely if I held a hand to the plastic housing on the front, and it was just the vibration. All in all, as long as it keeps working and doesn't set the house on fire in my sleep, I'm happy with it.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!! I ordered this AC unit and was very disappointed with the volume of the unit. Impossible to sleep in a room with it on. It says in the ad that it is 51dbs but the this is completely false advertising as the actual value of the unit is closer to 70 dbs. I got a decibel reader to take actual readings because I couldn’t believe how loud the unit was. I then tried to return the unit and the store would not pay the return shipping fees, even though it did not say anywhere on their website that I would be charged these fees. So I had to pay $114 to return the unit. Then when they received the unit, they only gave me a 50% refund even though it said nowhere on their site that they would only give me a 50% refund . When I contacted them they made reference to some policy that was not posted anywhere so I put in a claim on Amazon‘s A-to-Z guarantee and Amazon refunded me both the return shipping fee and the remaining 50% cost of the unit. Do not buy anything from this seller as their advertisements are misleading and they will take your money and not refund it. Beware!

I have 2 of the LG Portable AC units. Work Flawlessly. Dry Mode works to Remove Humidity. The Cool Mode works Really well for Cooling a room. Best part about this unit no water draining. I would recommend this item.

My LG portable AC unit was delivered on July 10th and neighbors helped me install it on the 11th, because I couldn't even get the box into the house, much less up the stairs. The first night of operation, the whole thing shut off after only a couple of hours, but came back on when I pushed the Power button. It stopped again after another hour, but this time the green lights were on. I can't sleep if it keeps shutting off and on. As for the noise level, it fluctuates depending on when the compressor kicks in, which also disturbs my sleep. I also smell some kind of an odor, although I'm told the refrigerant has no odor (they also don't tell you it uses R32 refrigerant in the specs). When it runs, it does put out cold air so far, but not sure I can deal with all the other problems. It's also only got a 30 DAY RETURN POLICY, and because they don't provide technicians for home repair, it means I'd have to haul this heavy thing down the stairs and try to get it to a UPS Store for return. I would have to pay someone to do it for me, which is totally inconvenient! I'd think twice about getting one of this room ac units! Update is the 2nd night. I had it set to Cool @76 degrees and it was 75degrees outside according to TWC. For some reason tonight, the compressor keeps cycling on and off more frequently than last night, which is really irritating. The unit is running and staying at 76 degrees, but the change in the noise level is driving me crazy. I am used to a consistent White Noise machine. At 2 a.m. I turned it from Cool to Fan Mode and turned on my regular floor fan and slept better. Is it normal for this to cycle so rapidly???
