Yes. Wiring too. It's not hard, just annoying because they are relatively small and could easily come put together.

Can the lock combination be changed/reprogrammed?

You can choose a different number for the combination as described by Mr. Mitchell. I have to disagree with the other comment. My son-in-law and grandson put it together without any issues. My grandson loves it because he actually "made it". I was going to get the cash box but opted for this one because he likes to build things. He is 11 and loves it. Hope this helps.

It is plastic. I wouldn't store anything to valuable in here. Great for a child though.
