First time buying this hay for my guinea pigs as I normally just buy Timothy hay from the pet shops. However lately they have been very bitty and more dusty (even though it says dust removed). So I done some research and came to find this brand. WOW very good quality, crispy & green! Brilliant value for money, smells great too! This size box works out the same price as 6 bags from the pet shop and this quality is 10x better. Bean has given seal of approval!

This hay is amazing! When I first got my pigs I used to buy hay from pet store. It used to land all on the floor as they was just picking some and didn't want to eat anymore. Then I found this on Amazon, it was a bit expensive (I thought at the time) but wanted to try as the reviews was really good. Since then I don't buy hay anywhere else, also encouraged my mother in law to start buying this hay. My girls eat all of it, they literally doesn't leave the hay rack! That means that I'm not wasting any and it actually becomes cheaper than pet store hay. Great colour, smell. I've been ordering Small Pet Select hay for quite awhile now, and while the hay is great, the customer service is even better. With hay being a natural product, there are inevitably going to be issues once and awhile. Each time the Small Pet Select crew have gone above and beyond to help, and they are incredibly easy to get ahold of. I've usually contacted them over FB with a message to their business page and they are very quick to respond. Now, onto the hay. The 2nd cut timothy hay they offer is not only the best hay I've been able to find, it's often cheaper than others when I buy in the 20 or 25lb boxes. It's always a lovely shade of green, and the smell is just so perfect! My chinchillas and bunnies are always so excited for "Fresh Hay Day!", which is the day the new shipment of hay comes in. With my two chinchillas and two rabbits (one of them being a 14lb continental giant!), I go through about 20lbs every 6 to 7 weeks, so being able to get this quality and quantity of hay shipped right to be has been a blessing. And speaking of shipping, it often arrives quicker than Amazon estimates, usually only taking two to three business days after it ships from a SPS warehouse. (They don't store their hay at Amazon warehouses, they ship from one of their own warehouses. I asked them myself, so don't worry about getting hay that's been lingering in the Amazon warehouse for forever!) My little critters just eat it right up, and it keeps their tummies happy and consistent! The strands are often really long which the bunnies love, but can be too much for the chinchillas to handle, so I tend to cut bundles in half length wise for the chinchillas. A good pair of kitchen or garden shears is best for this if you choose that route. Just make sure they're clean. TLDR; Great hay, even better customer service. Order it!

Despite the weight, the box was surprisingly easy to carry. My bunny was so offended that we didn't open it the moment we got it! But we had to finish up another brand's box first. Today was the day we finally opened the new box. I understand now why she was so keen! It is so green and the pieces are so long. And there are so many flower heads! Compared to this, the other brand might as well have been saw dust. I hope the rest of the box will have the same level of quality! I can't see my bunny wasting very much of this hay at all and that makes it an excellent value for the money!

I really like to be able to get first cutting of hay, I find that it lasts longer and the rabbits seem to also love it. Originally, I was buying oxbow, but I find this one has way less dust and I love that I can just get 1st cutting and nothing else. It also smells really fresh and it always has a beautiful green colour.
