The ultimate Dragonzord collectible!
Just like my SoG Megazord review this is the best Dragonzord hands down. Way better than the Legacy lineup. Love it! Again...a big thanks to hobbytown for shipping my order without damaged.

Awesome Robot Dragonzord
Without question the defining version of the Power Rangers/Super Sentai Dragonzord ever released. It's rather hard to review this guy as a stand alone SOC. He is gorgeous. All the paintwork and gold chrome is amazing. Articulation is among the worst of the SOC line, but that is kind of by design. It is what it is. (still better than Goldymarg). It's a die cast model of a guy wearing painted cardboard boxes. I may have mispoken actually. The issue is not so much articulation. This guy has tons of movement. Rather it is poseability. This is basically the Super Sentai "Mechagodzilla"like design. So he shares some of Godzilla's design issues in posing and moving. The legs have some decent jointing, but it's still limited by the thunder thighs and tail. The arms are very limited by design. There is not really any waste and no head movement. But all of this matches the on screen suit. And it all exists because being a free roaming stand alone robot is not this guys main purpose. At heart this guy is an add on accessory for GX-72 Daizyjin/MMPR Megazord. He spilts aprt in order to combine with the larger 5 man Megazord to form the legendary Super Megazord. And he does that extremely well. The combined robots look stunning on display. Not the most dynamic things out there (once again root design) but they draw the eye as the biggest baddest thing on your robot shelf. But wait, there's more! You can add your GX-72 Megazord and GX-78 Dragonzord to the newly released GX-85 Titanus/King Brachius to form the Ultrazord. A Diecast Robot creation that while pretty much a statue, is a glorious one that will threaten to tear your display shelf loose from its moorings with all the weight. I think the combined robot may be required to be registered with the DMV in at least 12 US states, so check with yours. (Yes it is THAT freaking big!) Personally I display my GX-78 in his stand alone Dragonzord form. He makes for a great transition with my Mechagodzilla's. I love his clean green black and gold colors, and the fact that he is the least humanoid robot in my SOC's. If you are an adult fan/collector of Power Rangers or Super Sentai this guy is a must have. Get him while you can, the full set of Zords will likely quickly become collector Holy Grails.

Likely the best Dragonzord/Dragon Caesar for quite some time
Coming from the only other SOC I have being the Daizyujin/Megazord this toy absolutely lives up to the quality that one comes to expect from the Soul of Chogokin line. Its made out of plastic and diecast, in the majority of cases I agree with the design choices of where they applied the die cast. Articulation is really good and very pose-able despite the limits of the source design. Combining with a SOC Daizyujin/Megazord works fine, the weight on Dragonzord/Dragon Caesar is more spread so it doesn't want to fall over when attached. Just be careful, read the instructions as its possible to remove some paint particularly with the connection to the head horn of Megazord/Daizyujin if done improperly. The design is very nice looking, more shinier than what would be show accurate but forgivable since it looks nice. It will stand shorter than Megazord/Daizyujin but its taller than SOC Tyrannosaurus. The tail sticks out a lot so if you want it straight you will need some room. Only gripe about how it looks is the eyes often will seem hidden, you'll need proper light angle to get the eyes to show otherwise it often seems like its offline as its hidden by the helmet's shadows. You're given 2 crests, one for the mecha itself and another one for a more show accurate spear. The spear can be held in Fighting mode/Gouryuuzin form for somewhat show accurate poses something the other toys couldn't quite do. You're given 2 types of hands as well, one type which is its straight hands meant for its transformation and what you'd see on other Dragonzord/Dragon Caesar toys. The other hand is more of what it looks like during a fight scene and not straight and rigid, they look good although they have zero articulation which would've been nice. Overall its the toy of this mecha you always wanted. If there's a real negative, its only the price. Its expensive. SOC line toys are also not built in huge quantities, if its available and you can afford it its best to get it as soon as you can. Its unknown if it will ever get a re-issue. Just waiting for SOC Titanus/King Brachion now.
