Can multiples of the same size nest? ie, can a 2-cup fit in another 2-cup?

While the bottom of a 2-cup is small enough to fit in the top of another 2-cup, the overlap between the two nesting cups won't be more than an inch. So, not really. I have the1/2, 1, 2, & 4 cup and they nest nicely, but I'm pretty sure same size cups won't nest very well.

can you put boiling water in them? say to add a bouillon cube or something?

I've used the 2 cup measure successfully for: - melting butter in the microwave - dissolving bouillon into boiling water for the random 1-2 cups of broth you might need while cooking - setting aside hot stuff straight from the pan, like brown butter or pan sauce - just pour it right in

Does the lettering fade?

I wash it 2-3 times a week in the dishwasher. I have had the 4 ounce size for about 4 years and it has not faded yet or shown any signs of wear.

Can you see through these?

Yes, they are translucent. Not clear like glass, but you can see the contents inside against the measurements on the outside.
