Studio Ghibli Kiki's Delivery Service Kurutoga Mechanical Pencil Advance

Pencil is well made and functions extremely well, had bought this as a gift for wife who loved the design and printing of characters from one of her favorite movies. One thing I noticed (overlooked at the time of purchase) after purchase, this pencil is 0.3mm and is prone to lead breaking with even a gentle pressure. Requires careful use.

I first got this pencil my freshman year of high school. It lasted for 2 years before I left it in the cafeteria and never saw it again. The pencil was soooooo good that I bought another one! I then left it in the choir room of another school. Who ever found that pencil is super lucky!!! This pencil is SO good like I would consider buying it for a third time if the price didn't skyrocket as much as it did! I'll probably put this on my birthday wish list though!!!!

I may have a defective pencil. It writes okay for a while, but the mechanism to rotate the lead seems to require a heavy hand. My normal writing pressure doesnt seem to be high enough to consistently trigger the rotating, leading to it catching in the paper. Maybe Il'll try a different paper.. It happens, but not as much as when I increase pressure greatly. But, I mainly got this as a cool tchotchke for a film I love. So worth.

So cute! I know the $20.00 price tag is a lot. Certainly kurutoga pencils aren't this expensive in Japan. But it is a Ghibli product which means it has an extra bump up on the price and then it's also an imported product, so I can see where they landed on the twenty dollar mark. The last kurutoga pencil I bought lasted me over five years, so this is an investment. The pink and design is lovely. I never get tired of anything Kiki's Delivery Service related!

I spoil myself with pencils when pattern drafting. Love this Kurutoga in helping keeping my lines straight and clean.

La mina es muy delgada pero tiene un buen trazo

Super cute pen, I mainly bought these to try the self-sharpening and can safely say that it doesn't disappoint. Obviouslt, you won't be able to write in cursive with these pencils, but that seems like a small modifiction for something that self-sharpens! However, I quite like the feature since you can sort of modify the thickness of the line by leaving your pencil on the page if that's what you want!

Buscaba un lapicero 0.3mm desde hace tiempo y en cuanto ví éste, me enamoré. No solo es de excelente calidad, es japonés sino que tiene muy lindo detalle de la película de Ghibli de Kiki. ¡Super recomendable! ^^
